i agree the interior on the G isnt that nice. but u get what u pay for. design wise, it doesnt look cheap. interior and exterior is quite a bit better then the previous models.

you should've just waited for the M45 and trade both cars in.
not really on topic, but how many sedans today are faster than the gs400 which is rated at 5.7 0-60? assuming they are around the same sz etc there isnt too many

And also, in your analogy, that girl is a WH0RE while the G is a refined lady.
Sure, I could've used #8. Thanks for finishing my stupid *** analogy! lol!

*****? Sure, why not! When your young, you can go all out!

Boy, this really went off topic!

I never posted so much since the inception of the internet.

Exactly! You forgot to mention 0-60 @ 5.7 and being automatic!! Also, the damn car weighs 3,700lbs+. Very tough to beat!!

LMAO at the people saying the SC/GS or Lexus is for the "bingo' crowd. Well lets go through some facts. Tell us about this crowd please?
J30
M30
G20
QX4
I30
I35
For one, they probably are hard to find, since Infiniti had to discontinue them. The Q45, your flagship, going to get discontinued. So Infiniti has a couple nice newer cars but lets not go there with brand to brand.

The GS is old, and what you guys are doing to the G35, people did to the GS 7 years ago. So its nice you like the car, but really, respect the elders. Lexus has been holding it down for those into modding while INFINTI had to get thier crap together.

The G35 and GS have shared many things, Car of the Year Awards, Comparison Test Awards and 10 Best awards. Both are sporty, both RWD, both proved imports can shake up the German establishment. Guess what, the SC did THE SAME THING. Import car of the Year, 10 best for 6 years, comparison wins, etc. So respect the PREDECESSORS.

Otherwise, while the G35 is a 350Z stretched 8 inches in wheelbase with the same RHD interior as in Japan, the GS is sold worldwide and one of the best built cars in the world. One is starts at 28k, one starts at 42k. One loaded is 37k, one loaded is 57k.

The SC interior was considered by Automobile to be the finest cockpit in the world. The G35 interior is clearly, not its selling point. The G35 has a great high hp V-6, the SC and GS offered V-8s.

i don't think ppl are hating. at least for me, i always mentioned, "to each their own". here in my locale, lexus is more for the "older" crowd with the exception of the is300 which are often driven by ppl under 25. i'm not saying the gs is ugly or not as "good" as the g35. in my opinion, lexus makes better cars than bmw and mercedes benz. the designs/styling is where they are behind other luxury cars. i admit the new gs looks great, but it still (despite its power) provokes a certain feeling of older or more mature.

I think that the lighter color interiors look higher quality than the darker/ graphite interiors. The dark colors show up more dust and is harder to keep looking good. That's not to say that it looks bad because when it is clean and perfect, it looks hot. But The lighter colored interiors give you more of a luxury feel and the darker colors give you a more sporty feel but looks cheap if not kept perfect.

SOUNDS LIKE A BMW OWNER!!!

Whats the difference between a BMW and a porcupine?

The porcupine's ****** are on the outside!

Cheap Inside. LMFAO, good one! My mom drives an S430, and loves my Insides more than her's (thats a benz for all the nubs)

Go buy a BMW or something since i guess your taste is just far superior... and fall in a hole

No need to put in your sig that you're in high school, it really isn't too hard to tell.

Now, back when I was researching the coupe, I originally thought the coupe was one of the best looking cars on the road. This was until I purchased my coupe in Dec. My original intentions were to sell my Lexus GS400. Well that didn't happen. I have compiled a short list of adverse remarks with regards to the coupe.

1. Seating position.
a. It felt like my back was laying against wood. Very uncomfortable.
b. Very narrow shoulder and hip room. (maybe because I'm 6' 3"?).

2. Cheap interior feel.
a. I couldn't stand looking at the interior in the daylight. Strangely enough, I was much relieved with the night time look(instrument panel, navigation, etc..). This kept me from looking at the cheap/fake and easily scratchable aluminum panels. Oh yea, I could've sworn each day I would find a new scratch/scuff mark inside the interior(especially inside of the door by the speaker).

3. Odd body look from different angles.
a. Hard to explain, but whenever I would see a G on the road, I would say to myself thats what I'm driving? The coupe just seemed a little weird from different angles.

And lastly, even though I'm only 26yrs old, I felt like the coupe is more suited for a someone a little younger(IMO). This is maybe because of the cheap interior feel(which has a big impression). Anyway, I think the culprit was the fast transition from the Lexus GS400 to the coupe. And yes, I do understand the coupe and the GS are in different classes. I just set my expectations way to high(smoothness, ride, overall integrity). Oh and by the way, my coupe was loaded.(6K,navi,18" rims, etc..)

To sum it all up, I recently sold my coupe at a heavy loss and kept my Lexus, which is more of a everyday type of car.

Thanks all, I had a great time on the board.

I appreciate your honesty. It's apparent your not posting for trolling sake. It's only natural for some people to become unhappy with the car. You realized you made a financial mistake and will move on.

With that said however, you do deserve some of the criticism that has come your way.

1. If the seats are that uncomfortable for you, then this is something that should have been noticed by you during a testdrive. Seat comfort is nothing like the "getting tired of the woman" analogy you provided. Your mistake on this issue is unacceptable.

2. This is somewhat understandable. You obviously got tired of the interior. But again, you "couldn't stand it." If you had this much dislike for the interior, then you should have never bought the vehicle. You need to be a better consumer.

3. I disagree 100%. I love every angle of the vehicle. But styling is subjective so your entitled to say everything in this category.

And coming from a GS, I could see why the G35 seemed "younger" too you. In reality it is the truth, but the average buyer is in the 30-40s. The GS is going to be in the 50s.

Too bad the G35 didn't work out. Seems like the 05 model would have fit the bill, but again the seating issue appears major to you and is something that should made you take a major step back from buying the previous model.

Very interesting post. I guess some of us are larger autophiles than others. When i saw the g35 sedan released in 02 then heard a g35 coupe was in the works i knew that the coupe i would have eventually. And eventually hasn't come just yet. The main reason i will buy it is b/c my parents got me a g20 and 4 yrs later nothing has ever gone wrong and i trust nissan cars now.
So basically the g35 will be my next car while i keep the g20 then with both of those cars i don't even know what would be the next step up. I guess the way it seems here is that it would have to be a more refined interior. Oh also after havin my g20 for so long i dont even look at it as luxury just a bottom level infiniti car I guess all that matters is that it gets from point A to B and the g35 will get there as well just in my eyes with more class!
