Clunking in Steering wheel?
Hi, I have a 2004 6mt coupe that I have so far done basically a bunch of done to the suspension short of coilovers (which are on the way) but also including rack and pinion, outer tie rod replacement, steering u joint replacement, and clockspring replacement that i have done. Recently I've started hearing this clunking in the steering wheel that I think is coming from the steering shaft itself but I wanted to get some more opinions before I jumped to conclusions, below is the video of the sound.

Remove the shroud around the steering column and see if there is something loose or scraping. It could be anything from the clock spring to steering column coupling. Go to the link below and find the correct section for steering. It will give you exploded views of the parts and instructions on how to remove them. If you attempt anything around the steering wheel itself, disconnect the battery and press on the brake pedal to neutralize any residual voltage present. You don't want the air bag deploying and sending you to the hospital.

Update: ended up finding out it was the angle of adjustment I had for the steering wheel and guage cluster that was putting strain on the steering shaft. Messed with it for a bit and got it to go away.
