Discover Infiniti of Escondido
Discover Infiniti of Escondido
Have any of your guys taken your ride to Discover Infiniti Escondido, here in San Diego for service? I ust moved here and this is the closest place to get work done. I just need a scheduled oil change, but thought if anyone had bad experiences, I would rather find another place. Any help you guys can give would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have heard of many bad experiences at Discover. The only experience that I have had with them is when I was looking to buy my coupe. I walked on to the lot and they were rude. Maybe they don't like girls? Anyway, I bought mine from Hoehn in Carlsbad and that's where I have it serviced. They are awesome!
haha. I had the exact opposite experience. I had a really good experience with service at Discover in Kearny Mesa but a very bad experience with Hoehn. I also looked at the one in Escondido and had a pretty good sales experience with them. It all depends on the person you are speaking with that day...
When I bought my coupe in 2002, I orginally went to Discover. They wouldn't let me put down a deposit and the only car they had for sale was a demo from the San Diego auto show. They basically said if I wasn't there when the truck came in, too bad. I asked about a discount for the auto show car and they laughed. Ok, thanks to the forums, I found out that a new dealership was opening in Riverside. Called and they said they had plenty of coupes. Drove up on December 26th in a BMW and drove back to San Diego with a brand new '03 Coupe. The salesguy from Discover calls me the following week to see if I was still interested and I had the last laugh. Riverside impressed me so much that I even drove out of my way to get the car serviced.
Sorry these guys are nearly crooks. I would not recommend them under any circumstance. They actually had the nerve to flat out lie to my face when questioned where my car was (when it was ordered), not until they were knee deep and called out did they come clean. I'm sure, as always, others have had different experiences but mine, at Escondido, was terrible.
In addition, the Kearney Mesa location, had nearly sold me on a car w/NAV, to finally get through the paperowork to find out IT WASN'T on the car. When asked, she basically said "whoops" and went on as no big deal. Then, with some serious nerve, wouldn't budge on the price. I walked away laughing. TERRIBLE!
<end rant and rave>

Wow. So many bad experiences. To be fair, I've only dealt with the Discover service center in Kearny Mesa. I actually purchased my car from Grubbs (best purchase experience i've ever had!). Honestly, I've had a good experience with the KM service center but I'm happy to hear that my experience with Hoehn was an isolated incident.

Escondido has issues
I don't quite know how the service is after you purchase the car, however I do know that their offers are unreasonable. While others like Mission Viejo and some other dealerships are offering some reasonable deals, Escondido refuses to budge (while mocking you for even questioning their out-the-door pricing). If you're going there, you'll have to take a risk. I'm uncertain as how they treat their customers, but that's been my experience with them.
