for one, the G is not a sports car like everyone says... its also luxury... so its not goin to be tuned to drive like a real sports car, aka the s2000... thats what i believe...

Lol...What do you mean G so slow??!! It's racing an S2000! I actually thought it would be worse for the G... The S2k will pull pretty hard on a G35 from any mph..0-60, 1/4 mile, and even up top...it's just the G's torque keep's it close up top, but still doesn't make it faster by any mean's!

S2000...13.7-13.8

G35...14.4+

Hmm.....now maybe if that was a 350Z...

My friends 04 s2k dyno'd at 215 to the wheels and i pull on him by about a car an 1/2 from a 60 roll to 110. 14.4 was his best time never seen a s2k run under 14.3 before but i guess anything can happen.

But is the 05 that much quicker?

Wow...A properly driven S2k can hit as low as 13.7...I know, cause i've done it with my 00' S2k when it was stock. Many s2000 owner's don't know how to properly drive there car, and this is why you see 14+ time's out of them! It's a tough little car to drive "perfect", due to it's low torque, and accesiable powerband.

Trust me I know, I own both (00' S2K, and 04' G35 6 speed) and the S2000 is just flat out faster.. even on the highway where the G's more torque, and better drag ratio come into play, it's only enough to keep it close...but still not faster...S2000's can even be faster then many 350z's, let alone the heavier G35...and im not hating on the G by any mean's, I actually like my G more then my S cause of the "Extra's", but when it come's to pure performance, S2K hand's down (stock vs. stock of course)

And I've seen plenty of stock S2000's in the 13's...just the other day I was out at moroso, when a stock 05' s2k went 13.6@102 mph in like 70 degree weather!!! That's the 1st 13.6 known to date out of a stock S2K...I wonder what honda did to the 05's now..?

Those last two races seemed pretty accurate. It's too bad the S2k is a Honda and not an Acura. Honda dealership service sucks, from personal experience.

I bet that whole race was rigged. The camera man was obviously an S2K fan as the G barely got any camera attention. He kept talking about the 05' S2k blah blah. They were all probably S2K fans with the exception of the G owner of course.

S2k is faster than G if properly driven. 00-03 S2k runs 14 flat on 1/4 mile. I don't really know about 04+ S2k's since I lost interest after they lowered the redline by 1k rpm and made it a softer car overall in order to appeal to people other than hardcore enthusiasts.

S2k is a great car... I would have gone for it if I could have two cars. My situation only allows for one car so here I am with the G... but I'm not complaining Anyway, S2k's handling is just great. It takes some skills to drive it fast, though. When it is properly driven, it can surprise a lot of more expensive cars on road course from what I hear. Straight line performance isn't the main focus of S2k; handling is.
