The 2006 G35C's have been spied driving around in Taiwan. (Taiwan has nothing to do with Communist China, which doesn’t have Infiniti…. or freedom) The vehicle has been selling like chili fried chicken in Taiwan since its introduction 2 months ago. Our senior editor for the new SUKAIRAIN MAGAZINE has captured some exclusive images of the 2nd G35C delivered in Taiwan and conducted a thorough interview with its owner. where are the pics, please take a group of photos of the 06. From all angles please.

 

I would take 100 pictures, except it's pointless. From where I can gather from staring at the car for an hour and half.... the only thing that's new is the headlights. The tail lamps are the same as JDM ones with amber turn signals. The front bumper looks the same,maybe a tiny bit thinner, but honestly it looks identical. Interior is the same as 05.

BUT..... there is quite a surprise when he turned on the ignition key. I'll get into that later.

 

headlights:

1) projector w/ sharp cut off
2) no clearance light bulb or optic, it's just raffled painted plastic reflector, it would be very very difficult to get the clearance strip back in the 06.
3) turn signal s are clear and do not light up with headlights
4) side markers now act as turn signals from factory
5) clearance bulb is now located in the fog light housing
6) nice 1/2" bevel around all lights, looks pretty sharp


tail lights:
1) Amber turn signals same as JDM

others:
a) Interior same as 05, down to the orange stitching, aluminum pedals.

the car doesn't appear to have the intellikey option.

 

To bad its an Auto i heard most of the big changes were done on the 6MT.

 

No it doesn't. To be honest, this car looks a lot like a 2005 with external pieces of the 06 slapped on. The stereo does not support blue tooth, no memory seats, no keyless entry, and no rear active steering. I am guessing the Taiwan 06 will be slightly different from the US version. The exhaust has most definitely been changed though.

 

It is me or does the exhast tips look different- The projectors are cool but I also like the clearance light and having the parking lights on with the lights on. I wonder if the US version will still have that.

 

The exhaust not only look different - they sound VERY different. For someone who's obsessed with the OEM exhaust sound, I was quite shocked to hear the 06 coupe.

 

Where did you hear that?

Anyway, it does look pretty much the same. The new clearance strips look very cool, but I still think the 03-05 versions look nicer, expecially lit up with some bright *** PIAA XTremes.

Only thing I would like to get my hands on is that clear turn signal light! I can't stand amber.

 

I heard the exhaust in person at the Club 555 meet in Taichung yesterday. Imagine a G35C with no exhaust note whatsoever, and you'll come close to what that car sounded to me. It has less exhaust note than a G35 sedan. Sounded neutered to me. I don't understand why they would do that, especially when porkies like FX35 runs around the city howling like wolves. I'll try to post a clip later. All you hear is the engine whine, no exhaust note.

From the thread it says different front bumper, diff side skirts, diff spoiler and diff oen front chin i believe apart from projectors,memory seats and intelli key

 

sorry this is way off topic. i find it funny that u said that since it had nothing to do with the 2006 g35. What would u do when/ if China takes over Taiwan?

 

BTW: the G35C's have been selling like hot cakes and the dealerships here don't have a single one in stock. Infiniti sold 200+ G35C through 5 dealerships in Taiwan the last month and half)

I read some auto magazines in Taiwan and the G35C reviews sound like a bunch of obsessed worshippers who just found a new religion. To translate & quote :

"There are very few cars that look this beautiful, perform this well and priced so reasonably. It's absolutely gorgeous."

"The performance and handling of this vehicle reminds me of the Porsche 911 we test drove some time ago. It's a truly impressive performer."

"The backseats are very comfortable and very usable for adults. The bucket seats give you a sense of luxury and confidence in cornering"

The only thing they could find to complain about was the G35C has a small trunk.

 

No where does it say that the major changes are only for MT, not AT. They will be standard on MT, and optional on the AT, just like the 05.
