Questions....
Ok, I got my G on Oct. 22. Its an 04 DG 6MT that just turned 13k. So far I absolutely love the car. I could go on about how great it is, but I would be here for a while. Here comes the bad stuff. Ive read some of the TSB's on the car and found a few that apply to mine. Ive just got some questions about stuff that I couldnt find in the TSB's.
1) The stereo works fine until I put a CD in and hit the breaks. As soon as I touch the breaks, the left speakers cut out. They won't come back on until the car is turned off and started again. Has anyone heard of this?
2) How does the Disk Changer work? Ive never used a changer before, but to my understanding all you do is open the door and press the eject button on the CD sleeve, correct? When I do that it still won't eject. I think I also tried it with the ignition turned on but I dont remember if I did or not.
3) Is the clicking coming from the axle a hazardous thing? I know there is a TSB on it, but it really dosnt bother me that much. I read that some other guy is trying to file a lemon law because of the clicking. I think he's gone a little to far with such a small problem.
4) Is first gear noticably louder than the other gears? It sounds like there is more metal to metal noise at any rpm in first gear.
Well thats all I can think of at the moment. Im sure I'll remember something else as soon as I make the drive home. Thanks in advance guys! ~Derek~

1. Yes, thats a known problem with the Bose head unit. Go into the dealer and tell them you're having that problem playing CD's and they should replace out that head unit for you.
2. Basically the numbers that you see on the digital display are the CD's that you actually have in there. Its a 6-disc changer so if you see 1256 represented that means you have 3, 4 open. You can hit the 3 key and it'll ask to insert CD. If you hit the 1 key it will read to the 1st CD and then hit the eject button and it should say EJECT CD on the display.
Hopefully that makes sense. Congrats on the ride.

Well, I would go in to the dealer and have them fix the clicking noise. Even though it isn't bothering you, you might as well have it fix as long as you are in the dealer for other things (like the speaker cutting in and out). Better to have the axle fixed now before it gets worse and your warranty is up. I don't have any on my car (or that I noticed) *crosses fingers, knocks on wood, rubs a rabbit foot*
Mine is an 05 Coupe 6MT, BTW. I just don't know what happend to my sig!

Do you happen to have the NAV system on the car? If you do, CD's won't play in your NAV system. In the rear between the seats or below the right rear passenger seat is I think where the Nav unit goes. So either you are looking at an after market "CD Changer" or something totally wierd because the "stock head unit" is a 6 disk changer. Feed the disk in from the drivers seat type of thing. And really, get the axles fixed! Because it won't be annoying until something breaks because it wasn't fixed and you are left stranded.
