Not sure if I made the right choice on the tranny.

Lately I have been thinking about the 6 speed a lot and now I think I should have gotten that instead of the automatic. Duhhh. I was wondering what kind of a hit I would take if I was to trade in my 03 5AT for the stick version. Or maybe if there are any people that got the 6speed and would like to trade for an auto. I am in Northern Jersey. I got silver on black coupe loaded minus the nav, 8K miles on it. Worse comes to worse I will probably keep this until mid next year and get the 05 model or the GT-R if I win the lottery.

I'm just the opposite. I have the 6MT but wanted to trade for the auto b/c of all the driving I do for work and the amount of time I spend on the damn phone. Even with my head set for the phone, shifting is a pain. I asked about trading and they said expect a 10-15% hit at 2000 miles. I'm not taking a hit like that yet. I'll keep it for a year or two I guess and then buy something else. I would trade you if you were closer to Louisiana. Good luck.

I am really considering it right now, so if there are any interested people in my area let me know.

I have a Diamond Graphite with Willow. 6MT Aero pkg, loaded with everything but Nav. About 3000 miles. Titanium Tint.

Hmmm, I would have considered a trade, but I don't like any of the Silver colors and I have NAV.

I feel the same way sometimes as well. I have a fully loaded CB/Graphite 5AT coupe. I live in Miami.

How would this trading work? Would you have to pay sales tax again? Or would it be a trade-in and you would only pay tax on the difference (in this case neglible)?

I am fairly sure you could trade even money and pay no tax. Then, if you do exchange money for a difference in Mileage or options, you could do that under the table. (Not that I condone that).

Re: Not sure if I made the right choice on the tra

I've got the Caribbean Blue 6MT and I really like it. Traffic in Miami is oftewn very frustrating, but it's worth while when things open up.

Also, regarding the sales tax, here are the following situations:
- Even trade with another car... no sales tax
- Trade for another car but you have to also pay some cash... sales tax only on the additional cash you had to pay
- Sell the car outright and buy a new car separately.... sales tax on the total paid for the new car.

You may want to drive the 6MT before you consider the swap. Unless you can find someone to swap with, you will likely have to pay more $.
