Mike it would be 10x easier if u would just drive on over here and show me how
hahaha pay my gas and i would love too :P i just recently did this 2 weeks back, guess i should have taken pics, just hard when my hands are full of axle greese lol

Andways only tool you will need once you get the axle off is a pair of snap ring pliers to get the snap ring off, so you can slide the bearing off the axle to you can slide the new boot on.

Heres an example of a pair of snap ring pliers but you can get them at harbor frieght of like $4

anyways try to get pictures of the side with the rips boot, I'm assuming its the passenger side since thats the side with the shorter CV shaft. Just snap a few pics, make sure they are close up, but not too close to the point where i cant even tell what im looking at lol

Just make sure you get like the whole knuckle assembly in the picture, get it from lol the top, left and right of the knuckle as if you were starring directly at it.

For example take pictures from inside the wheelwell in the directions on the arrows i pointed out in this picture, just so i can point out the nuts/bolts you need to remove to do this job(this is a driver side, yours will be a passenger side) but i still need photos in each direction

Ha okay... ill stay counting my pennies!! Lol

And mine is the driverside cant tell if its inner or outer. I can look down beside strut tower and see lube splatters on different parts. I ywould assume its the inner since it was on my exhaust components. But i will try to snap some pics of it tmrw after.work. i just talked to my mechanic that work for issan and he said by the ime i get te boot.and install it, id be better off spending a few more dollars and replacing the whole axle..he said nvot to get a boot from pepboys bc there prolly.cheap. where did.u get urs and do they last

I am surprised at how expensive it is. My Mechanic ordered the boot from Nissan, removed the shaft and replaced the boot. He charged me $182.00. Surely there must be a trustworthy mechanic in PA that will do this without gouging you.
I had a couple of them recommend I replace the whole shaft but IMO that's their way so they don't get their hands dirty.
Like mcaron says, it's not hard to do so any real mechanic should be able to do it in an hour or so.

mcaron...I'm still curious if you are removing yours or wrapping it. 30 min seems quick to remove, repair and replace all the components.

You know thinking about it when you lower it the axle is no longer straight more at an angle now. Well I was told the 240 guys put spacers on the engine mounts. I wonder if we did that it will lift the engine up some so the axles are more even.

Infiniti called today, my boot is in, so Im fixing it tomorrow after work. Hope this is the first and last time, this damn thing needs replaced!!!!! Mcaron I dont know how you can do it over and over!

Question to the guys with BC Coils on I have my rear raised I think as High as my coil allows and its barely cleared the stock tire. i have about half inch left of the spline that goes down thru the coil. Does this seem right to anyone? (its the newer coil, so I didnt use the gold cup on the bottom of the coil, just FYI)
