I was the third person today that called JIC regarding coilovers for the X! I sent Paul an email:

Paul@JIC-Magic.com

He is currently researching, getting measurements and looking at pics of the stock set up. The big factor in the timing will be whether or not JIC can make them in USA or have to get them made in Japan. Paul said if they decide to make these they will shoot for a design and ride like the JIC Vip Coilovers.

If you guys just want to save time, just shoot Paul an email and express your interest/desire for a comfortable and reliable coilover for your X.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I commend VRT for making these coilovers, however I only know of one person, G-Mony, that has them. Like any new product, some issues of design and reliability have arisen. How the company deals with these issues will determine if others will purchase their product.

Bottom Line:
Since JIC has been making coilovers longer than VRT, I would spend my $$$ on the JIC coilovers.

I'm going to call today too; keeping my fingers crossed.
Good choice. I regret getting those coilovers from VRT. Everybody i think misunderstands to think they make the coilver but they buy from china/taiwan. Eitherway its a no-name brand/generic and machine their own control arm to make it fit our X.

Bottomline I hit a pothole and it bent. Stock parts didnt bend but VRT arm did. It was machined well but reality is they got some kid machining it while our stock parts are engineered. Might be good for racing but not everyday driving.

Thanks for your input G-Mony. I'm going to go with H & R Sedan Springs and stock struts for now. If JIC makes a VIP coilover for the X, I will wait and see how the testing goes for reliability and everyday usage.

err, i like the tein h tech springs the best. they give the most even drop i think compared to the revized springs. i rode on my stock shocks for a little over a year with the tein springs on. the rear gets really bad really quick. just wait till you have a loaded trunk or 2 people in the back. i would put some rear shocks if i where you. i put koni yellows in the rear the other day. wow what a diffrence. now if koni would just finish my fronts so i could be done with the suspension. dont want to buy anything else cause i'm a little scared that koni hasent hit me with a price yet =( money is not the issue but i really hope its not some stupid big amount

Hey G-Mony, I don't know the spring rates, but the drop is stated as follows:

H & R Springs for 2004 G35 RWD Sedan is 1.1" F, and 1.0" R according to Tirerack.

Which is about 1.5" F and 1.4" R for the G35X I think.

Can anyone confirm my estimates?

That about right about 1.5" drop. Check the spring rate, the X has a stiffer rear spring rate. I believe it's 283/355 F/R.
