stillen rear and set it at hard...as for bushings go with Energy Suspension
as for coil overs don't hold your breath only one company didn't and succeeded but doesn't exist anymore they were shady.

 

which sizes for the end links and bushings?? and where can I find just the REAR ONLY stillen sway bar (not whole f+r set)?
So koni truechoice is shady? I thought they worked out great ?

 

I have the Stillen Sway in the rear, just called and said I wanted the rear sway ($175+ship) and Tokico HP Shocks for the rear. The rep said no problem and sent them out. Now that the H&Rs have settled I notice the endlinks my need to be replaced. No noises, just a precaution. Have to be putting a lot of additional stress on them.

Also, When I had the SPC camber kit installed on the rear the Mech. said that he was not able to get the left (driver) side rear completely into spec because and I quote "you need another kit to pull the support arm in." WTF!!!
I thought the SPC thing was enough. Did they just F-up the install (Not wide/grind the holes big enough?)

I read this whole thing. I have an 04 "X" looking to drop no more than 1" with 19" wheels. Want no shock issues or bad camber issues or at least try to minize the issues. I dont think i saw anyone in last 66 pages mention tanabe nf210, does anyone have these and what drop does it give the "X"?

 

Oh, can we just put up a chart of the types of springs and or combination of, that also includes the amount of drop it give the X? It woaul be a great reference table. i would do it but i know ****, about suspension.

 

Wow!! This has been painful reading all of the posts in fine detail, and seeing all of the hard work and time people have put into research and contacting different companies. I commend all of you!! Lightspeed has a great suggestion about having a list of springs and their height (after settling). I had a civic si with tien super street coilovers slammed with the stiffness all the way up and I have to admit that my 05X is a boat in comparision. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems that the H&R 350z springs will lower my car the most with dropping the front the more than the rear out of all the other setups. I want to buy just one set and will get struts in about 5000 miles or so or maybe a coilover set if somebody ever makes one.

 

Here but remember the X will be about .5 inch lower than the sedan. So that makes it about 1.5 inches.

A lot of good info to read here. I read *most* of this thread and there is a lot to dwell on.


One question, if you didn't have to worry about cost at all, what parts would you run to "correctly" lower an "X". WHat parts would you use even if not strictly necessary to lower the car while keeping suspension geometry correct?

From what I've read

Springs (F+R)
rear shocks
rear camber kit
alignment


Am I missing anything? WHat else would you add to the list?

 

honestly So far around a month on the EIBACH prokit model 6363.140 on 19s the sickest drop, NOT SLAMMED but tires Tuck perfect the way car rides and ofcourse looks is sick.

Ima need sport coupe rear shocks next

 

Looks right to me. I did not replace rear shocks. Not bouncy at all, I have 36k miles now on the car.

 

I dont knOw if it was covered and I've missed out. BUT


I drove my boys 2nd gen 08x and even on 19s its ridin sooo smooth.
WILL THE 2nd gen rear shocks fit the first gen rear. I know our springs fit them. But Do the SHOCKS? or even front strutS?

 

I am not sure if they will fit or not, the only thing I can say is buy a set and try.

 

How is your ride quality with your setup?

 

I pretty much copied JMAN44544. I have the H&R sport springs and a rear SPC camber Kit (a must). The springs were a huge improvement but as a precaution I replaced the rear shocks with Tokico HPs. Big difference over old shock (just look at the size of HPs vs. stock shocks). The rear left side is still a little out of spec but nothing I can't live with. No crazy tire wear yet. I only have about a 500 miles on them so far. Great set up. A little low with 245/40 R 18s. I scrap on speed bumps and the usual DC "huge" road dips/drive ways. Small price to pay for great handling. I have a stillen rear sway. Have not had the time to put it on yet. I wonder if it will even make a difference. We'll see.
