So in your opinion, what is the best way to cut down all the exhaust drone i have without making changes to the exhaust?

OCG35, heeard about Lizard Skin before. Good stuff. Not to ***** Second Skin, but if you're looking for an alternative they have a product for your needs. I don't quite think it will be Spectrum, though it might be, but I'm thinking more along the lines of Firewall.

I recently saw a thread where someome posted pics of what they did. They use some sort of wrap for headers on their test tipes and said it helped.Originally Posted by ttrank

I didn't have exhaust in my previous car, but I used Second Skin Spectrum and Sludge on the wheel wells and fenders.
Basically, what I painted on 3 layers of Spectrum on the front wheel wells and fenders (inner portion) and 2 layers of Spectrum in the rear wheel wells. For the front I also spread 1, maybe 2 layers of Sludge on the wheel wells and inner portion of the fender. It reduced road noise like crazy.
I think for your use on the exterior of the car, Firewall or Firewall Sludge would be the best bet. Here is a link to Firewall: http://secondskinaudio.com/thermal-a...n/firewall.php
For the inside, Heat Wave would be recommended.

thanks, I'll look into it... Damn I wish this subject came up 2 days or more ago! I just dropped everything off to be painted Monday - would have loved to coat it all first Originally Posted by donpisto

dompisto - do you know where to find it locally?... do they have can application or is it for a spray gun? If gun, does it need a special nozzle (like Lizard Skin)?... sorry for all the questions, but I'm in a mad scramble now to possibly use this before paint is completed.
OMG I'm such a moron.
I used Second Skin, not edead. I was going to order more and was looking at edead thinking it was what I used.
I found my order receipt. I used Damplifier pro and Luxury Liner Pro. I only have a little Luxury Liner Pro and need to try more. Maybe I'll try some Sludge too.

Hah, no worries, I don't mind the questions, I like helping. It will require a special gun because it's thick. However, I do have the gun so you can borrow it, you just need an air compressor. I was gonna use the spray gun when I did my trunk in my previous car but I forgot it at home and didn't wanna drive back an hour Originally Posted by OCG35

You can't get it locally, but the guy who sells the product, Ant, is in Arizona. You can call him up (it's his personal business) and he ships out pretty quick. Usually get it within a few days.
Either of these two numbers will work.

Lol, HUGE difference and much better than eDead. IMHO, Dynamat Xtreme doesn't even compare to Damplifier. Damplifier is not as tacky when placing so it's very helpful in case you accidentally put it in the wrong area, but once it's on, it's not coming off.
The Sludge is awesome, I just put on a glvoe and spread by hand

Is that just the gun or the product too? 623 is local to me I would love to save the shipping costs!!!
Never mind, fount their contact into. Sweet, maybe I can just go pick up 5 gal of sludge. This is gonna get messy.
LOL
Just called. The guy lives like 5 miles from me. His shop is a long way but he drives downtown and right past my house on his way to work.

Yep, all locally, to you at least, lol. It's actually not that messy. The sludge is so thick it's hard to make a mess, but I definitely recommend using some plastic covers in the area you're working on and don't want to get sludge on.Originally Posted by ttrank

Also, the sludge can't be sprayed, only the Spectrum can. If you do spray with spectrum, I highly recommend covering the entire car with some sort of plastic tarp or something. When I did the trunk in my last car, somehow some particles got on the front doors. Better to have it covered than to get some crap on it and spend some time taking it off.

Can this stuff be used as a thermal barrier base, then lightly sanded/prepped and painted over?
