what do you all think about driving full time in manumatic i have a 2005 sedan and i heard it can be bad for your engine if you do it full time then i also heard it wont do anything to you if you do it full time.
I would like to drive manumatic full time but if its going to mess up my engine or anything in my car i wont take that chance? your thoughts on this since i know nothing about the subject?

There a whole other long thread discussing about this a while back:

thanks for that thread but just a quick question tho when im coming to a red light and i start downshifting and slowing down the rpms rev up is this a bad for the engine at all or just normal?
I have an 03 and have been driving exclusively in MM since I got the thing 4 years ago. I woudln't drive it any other way.

The 03 sedans had a less aggressive manumatic mode. It was actually a top gear selector meaning if you set it in 4th, the car will upshift automatically as if it was in full-auto mode until 4th gear and proceed to hold it in that gear. There was a later revision in the 2004.5 models to make it like the manumatic in the coupe...you manually have to upshift every gear. I've driven 2003 sedans for loaners and I always felt that the manumatic shifted less aggressively in those models. The manumatic in my coupe changes each gear much more aggressively. I feel like it causes more wear and tear. But the auto trannys are strong so longevity shouldn't be an issue.
