There are systems on the market that do it that way, but Infiniti uses
individual pressure sending units in each wheel that transmit to the BCM
via the remote door lock receiver. The BCM decides whether the pressure
in any one of the tires falls below the preset minimum.

Weather doesn't mess with the sensors, but it will reduce the cold pressure in your tires about 1 psi for every 10 degrees F that the ambient temperatures drop.

1) The sensors fit the valve stem holes on your new wheels, so you get them transferred.
2) The sensors don't fit your new wheels, so you get them transferred by attaching them with bands.
3) You don't transfer them at all - pretty common with winter setups.

Sounds like either the weather messing with them fast cold to hot change. Or one of the batteries is low and the sensor may need replaced.
I have had them come on from time to time when I drive from Prescott (5200ft) down to Phoenix (1100ft) within an hour. My tires only had ~35psi to start.
If you don’t transfer the sensors I think the light may come on and stay on. Either that or it won’t come on at all.

This is the second year that I've had my winters on with no sensors in them. I swapped to the winters in mid-November and I haven't seen the light yet this year, but I haven't been out of the city so far. About 45 minutes of continuous driving at highway speeds will usually trigger the light to come on, but it will reset as soon as you shut off and restart.
