When I turn the VDC off I can Burn out until the motor dies without moving an inch. Just need to brake torque it until it breaks loose and stay on the brake. The 20's aren't going to help you.

 

yea...i remember once i put some old 17's i had sitting around my shop and i grabbed a couple of used tires of my rack and put them on (was bored and wanted to burn some tire without killing mine hehe) and i simply turned the vdc off broke the tires loose VERy easily and just held it there...i had made a small *** cellphone vid that day ( a long time ago) and i just posted it up just now..my idiot friend however didnt record the whole burnout but as you can see from the smoke i WAS standing still smoking tires i think its just because most of us have 20's and dont have enough power yet for the heavy rims and tires we put on them? (notice the bigger rims in front and small rims and tires in rear)

 

I've tried doing a burnout on one occasion and I was able to do it by just turning off the VDC. It seems really stressful on the tranny though, more so than my old auto 94 Z28. With my auto G, it takes about 2 seconds before the tires actually start spinning a bit at a standstill. You can really tell the ECU is killing power when the throttle and brake are applied at the same time. The tires will start to spin more and more and before long you're doing a burnout. It seems way too stressful on the tranny though hence the reason I've only done it once. I imagine on a wet surface, it would be cake just like these bozos were doing in a G35 sedan rental (they had no problems doing burnouts, eventually):

I recently did or well attempted to burnout from a dead stop. I rev’d the engine to 3.2 grand and then dump the clutch. I felt it slipping for about 3 seconds then I let off the gas. Stopped to try to see tread marks but smelt the clutch burning up, not the tires. I was so pissed. Now, is it because I need a new clutch or did I rev it too high? My goal is just to have them break lose on take off.

 

Your clutch is prob on it's way out. You'll prob start to feel it slip now. A good check it so put it in 4th gear around 30-40MPH or so and floor it and see if the clutch slips.

I don't quite see why you want your tires to spin on take-off. If they spin, you don't move. In my Mustang, i rev to 3K, and dump the clutch. With a set of DR's on a prepped surface, there is no tire spin at all and the car launches to a 1.9 60-footer. Basically you want the car to hook and go. If you spin the tires...you don't transfer weight properly and don't get off the line as well as you potentially could. Same holds true on the street. While i wouldn't suggest DR's for most street cars, spinning the tires on a launch is not an efficient way to get power to the ground.

Of course, this sort of launch is very aggressive on the drivetrain, and you run the risk of smoking a clutch, busting a trans of half-shaft or other damage.

lol, I did an N bomb by accident once , thought I was in manumatic poped it into neutral and hit the gas, then poped it back into D before revs went down, my tires chirped, I was going like 15mph at the time.

This was like one of the first weeks I had my car.

Worst noise i have ever heard. All that grinding. Ooohhh man i can still hear the death of my car in my head. I have never hit someone so hard before or gotten that angry. I had had the car about a month. I was just pissed.
