I do try to search personally but either I suck at searching or I end up with ten tons of irrevelant crap that doesn't help. Some people however just don't know where to start. Been there done that.

I wouln't click on a thread that was going to ruin my day.

ah gotcha.
I thought you were saying people were giving incorrect information about mods. I was thinking great now people are even giving bad advise too, so how the hell is anyone supposed to know what's good to do and what isn't.
I'm always skeptical anyway that way I don't get as disappointed if it doesn't turnout like I hoped.

Personally I just don't have the time to read every thread on the internet searching for a answer someone around here would be willing to give the answer to from simply asking.

They get all worked up about newbs asking a question about their car in a car forum, but goes on to post 20 threads of worthless rants about how their coffee was too hot when it spilled on their lap this morning

i've made some mistakes when i modded... if you redo the entire intake/exhuast, you'll notice a decent gain. you can't piece it together and look for the best gains if:
plenum + intake
or
cats + intake, etc... i didn't notice anything from this.
i noticed the most power increase when i got aem intake, crawford (and then kinetix) plenum, pro-1 headers, crawford cats, gruppe-s y-pipe, dr. gas reducer, mid-pipe stock resonator removal and replacement magnaflow straight through resonator, blitz nur-spec rear section.
there are plenty of exhaust answers out there.
but if you add up the numbers: (it's been a while so i may be off by a buck or two)
aem intake $240
plenum $400
headers $300 (install $500)
cats $500 (install $140)
reducer cone $40
mid-pipe resonator $80 removal/install ($50)
rear section $350
i also added springs (for looks), and sways (to tighten up suspension - did not notice as much as i expected) so that is another $500 for parts + labor.
total $3000 which would have been a nice down payment on a s/c or turbonetics s/t
(i'm not going to mention the ur pulley fiasco i went through a couple of years ago)
if you have any questions about my stupidity, let me know.
good luck!

enought that it was extremely noticeable... i can't offer objective hp numbers. but i did do the 1/4 in 13.97 (with a custom sub box + amp, on 19's). but i have no doubt that money would have been better spent on f/i. i'm still kicking myself in the butt for not doing it sooner... and i think i'm going to jump into another mistake by getting the stillen supercharger.
I think insanejokerboii is hoping to see some noticable gains from a few simple mods. True...you will gain a few hp to the wheels with a spacer and the right intake and exhaust, but this is probably won't knock more than 0.1-0.2 sec off your 1/4 mile time. However, most people love the sound of these mods.
yeah, i kinda kicked myself after getting my wheels and stuff could have gotten a turbo charger or something, but i'm satisfied when looking at my car every morning while it bathes in the sunlight.
I agree with ndndiablo88. That is almost what I did to my 06 Sedan. I went AEM intake first, X Piping Exhaust, Nismo Headers then I added the spacer. Huge difference in my opinion. I'm guessing atleast 40-50 HP with those mods.
With all these mods, I do know that the factory engine and trans is doing fine. It's been about 4 Months now. Good luck.

To keep from waisting to much money, I think I'm going to go with the supercharger, instead of a turbo charger for F/I. This way I can keep my R Tuned Stainless Steel Nismo headers, that I paid about 1300 for and some of my other mods. Before I do that, I'm going to go with some Rims and Tires, suspension, and those type of mods and then I will begin on my SC!
