TPMS stays "ON"

Hi Guys,
i have 2004 infiniti g35.
The TPMS light stays ON forever.
i have checked pressure - 30 PSI, as it says on the sticker, have recently changed tires but kept the same factory rims, but the light still stays "ON".
Any suggestions??

Perhaps a bad sensor, or a missing one if you just bought the car... For example, mine only has 3 sensors, because one broke, and I replaced it with a regular valve stem. It doesn't bother me though....

From what I understand the sensors are only supposed to alert if you fall to 25 psi or below, so sounds faulty to me...

Possible when they put on the new tires they replaced one of your rims with the spare, which even though is full size, has no sensor?

what happens if you get aftermarket wheels and do not move the sensors?

Will a light be on?

Yes.

I have a set of painted stock wheels with no tpms. The light blinks for a few seconds than goes solid. I just ignore it and check my pressure every so often... old school.

You'd have to trick the sensors and if they're valve stem type sensors you could only mount one on the spare, as oppoesed to other types of TPMS where you could insert them all on the spare to trick the light into going off...

either a bad sensor or bad sending unit... it's not that uncommon... however, the dealer may take several attempts before fixing - took me 4~!

well, when i put on my summer rims, my TPS light comes only after a good half-hour of straight threw driving on a highway. it will stay on till i shut the car off. if i'm doing regular city driving my TPs light never comes on.

It all depends on how long you are driving before it comes on. Mine takes about 30 minutes too.
