Dash kit for Double Din

I've searched high and low and coming up empty handed.

Before I order a regular kit for my 03 auto sedan and attempt to mod it to fit, does anyone know if there is an aftermarket dash kit that is made to go around a double din conversion console?

I want to pick up a dash kit in the real brushed aluminum to replace my Maple wood kit.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: revised this thread....useful info was posted to this one as opposed to the one I posted in the interior section

you can say accept except when you are talking about excluding something

what is the double din ? does that mean so you can run a normal size radio and something else like a coin tray underneath ???

DIN is a size. A standard size stereo is 1 DIN and they also have 1.5 and 2 DIN. The JDM V35 Skyline dash has a 2 DIN opening for a stereo.

I've been wondering if that as well~ I'm scared to put a navi in since my car already got broken into for a freakin ipod... it'd be nice to have a cover over the double din like that Z, even a Scion TC comes with one~

It looks very stock and is hard to remove. An iPod is easy to grab and run.

Engrish is my second ranguage

I think I'm going to wind up being stuck trying to cut up a OEM fitting kit.

Did you contact Burtman industries. They have a real carbon fiber dash kit for the G35 that looks pretty good (http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zoo...p?id=g35_carb). If I remember right he (Jason Burtman) is really big into Infiniti. See if he would make an aluminum kit for the G35 if you can get enough interest on here.

^Great info! Thanks

I just gave him a call. He can do it...either give him the part, he takes the measurements and sends it out to get it done or I can make a paper template and he will make it to the measurements given to him. It's not cheap though. A rough quote...at least $100 and at most $200. I'm going to order the kit and start swapping out my maplewood...ad a few pieces and then consider doing the rest of the console all the way up.

If I do decided to do the rest, i'll see about a group buy for everyone else.

Thanks again.

This thread will self-destruct in 5 minutes

Edit: He did mention that the alluminum kit was about the thickness of a dime so I might be able to mod it/cut it using the right dremel bit and still achieve a good finished look. This is very encouraging and I may wind up moding the kit I purchase.

The JDM V35 Skyline with the "Stereo Delete" option comes with a double din opening. It also does not come with dual-zone climate control. Regular V35's come with everything from Bose to navigation.

I have one of the nicest brused aluminum finishes there is. There is no thick clear coat over it, and it's the raw finish.
