OFFICIAL "What Mods Should I Buy?" Sedan Thread
If you want the best performance you should stay away from 20's period. Wheels are such a subjective and personal item, it all depends on taste. Look for SDGenuis's car in the media section, those wheels come silver, his offset and sizing is perfect in my opinion. I'm not spending that much on wheels but if I were I'd get those, I also like the way the 350Z track wheels look on our cars, coupe 18's are an nice inexpensive option, the Ray's 19's are a popular option and the 19's that come on the G37 sport are very nice, again just my opinion. Really speaking from a performance point of view, you should buy the smallest diameter wheel that will clear your brakes to keep the weight close to the axle. Again, look in the media sub forum and the wheels& tire sub forum you'll see tons of options and learn what works and doesn't work on these cars.
So I just bought a sedan g35 .. I'm new to infinitis but very much looking forward to doing some mods to my car.... I was wondering if anyone had some advice as to what the first mods I should do .. I want to do intake and exhaust (any recommendations?) also want advice on wheels... I want my car to sound loud and look dope.. And body kits? ? What websites can I get the best deals? On a budget....
Welcome to the G community. normally ppl do tint, wheels, and exhaust in that order. W/ the wheels your going to have to drop the car to close up the wheel gap. Having rims w/ these cars and still riding high just looks weird.
Check out some of the stickied threads at the top of the page. They will help you a lot in deciding what products you want to use and what you want to do first. I'd drop the car first and then get some wheels.

JWT Popcharger w/ Z-Tube. The popcharger from Jim is an extremely high quality greatly built intake. Its whats inside the intake not the actual cone that matters. It produces a few horses and you can feel the car push when its night time and cold out. Its about $250. Comes with a heatshield and everything. Make sure you get the z-tube attachment because it opens up the deep throaty sound 350z's have. Conceptzperformance.com
Exhaust:
If your like me and want to keep it simple and kind of stock with just a little better sound. Get yourself a used 350z HR motor Y-pipe. As well as pair it up with a G35 Coupe midpipe. It will make your exhaust run better and open up the sound a bit so it sounds nicer and more noticeable. Some people like get high flow cats as well. Keep it resonated!
Other mods:
Get yourself the electrical grounding kit. A guy named SxExCx or something provides them on here. It improves throttle response, shifts, and idle.
As far as the most power gaining mod... MOTORDYNE 5/16th PLENUM SPACER, Enough said. Put one of those bad boys in your engine to open up that air flow and get it running like it should be. You'll see the most gains in that.
Tune:
With all these mods you'll want to get the G tuned. Go with the Osirus tuner. Best tuner out if your car is a 3.5-06. As long as you don't have the doggy door on the trunk then your set to go.

For intake, I believe the best option would be Ztube + revup box + k&n filter Or the Stillen hiflow intake
I'm looking to upgrade my exhaust on my 05 sedan and I have two options. Keep in mind I current have a coupe mid pipe.
1. New HKS sport axle back (~$500) and the HR y-pipe (<$100)
2. Megan Racing Cat-back Exhaust (~$500) and sell my current parts for some extra $$
I enjoy the sound of the HKS a little better but 500 for just an axle back when, for the same price, I could get the entire Megan Racing.
I've read a bunch of stuff on here. People love the HKS with the coupe mid and HR Y pipe but others say the $500 price is mostly just for the name?
I haven't heard much on the full Megan Racing so if anyone has that set up, their input is appreciated.
Thanks!

I think the general consensus is that it's LOUD. HKS makes quality products, I wouldn’t put them in the same category as Megan Racing.
There is an entire thread dedicated to the Megan Racing sedan exhaust:

Any other full exhausts with dual tip exits that create a louder, improved tone for under $800? I like the Tanabe Medalion Touring but not the single edit

Spent some more time on the forum and found the borla cat back. Seems like a more legit system ( double the price of Megan) and still added bonus of selling my parts!
Any comments on the borla? I'll ask around of some of the borla threads as well.
Thanks

Take your car to a local exhaust shop and have them make you an exhaust. I just had a full 3" system, with resonator and Magnaflow muffler, made for under $500 and that includes the y-pipe too. I'm sure they can get you a muffler with dual tips.
