It has a much smaller resonator so yes it will change your exhaust tone.

Ok. What if i was to just have the resonator remove and put a pipe in its place with the stock muffler would that give a good tone without rasp.

No. lots of rasp and way to loud. There is an exhaust thread on here complete with sound clips, find it.

Impossible to Buy Midpipe?

I have Motordyne ART pipes, a Motordyne XYZ w/ resonator, and a magnaflow axle back. I'm looking to buy a midpipe to complete the system (minus headers of course), and it's seemingly impossible. It's starting to become very frustrating. Do any of you guys know where I can buy a decent midpipe by itself?

Check out Rockauto online. They have a good selection including some decent coupe midpipe replicas fairly cheap.

Talking 06 g35 sedan Mods and upgrades help.

Hey fellas. I just recently purchased a G. I have only had it or about 2 weeks. I am trying to get a few opinions on some simple upgrades. Wheels, simple ways to add horsepower, ways to make my G last forever. I have already dropped in a k@n air filter. And order a stillen z tube w/o the intake. I haven't installed it yet but I am assuming it works with the original Goo intake. But anyways guys and Girls hit me up with some good opinions on how to make this sexy G run good..

Thanks, Jason

Motordyne spacer, good exhaust, tune for performance. Wheels and drop for aesthetics.

Thanks for the input sounds interesting dude. What does that stuff normally run price wise. And where is the best place to buy G35 parts in your opinion?

The spacer goes for around $200 and is generally considered the best bang for your buck mod. Exhausts run anwhere from 600 to 2k for a full titanium unit. Tunes I'm not sure about as I Haven't done enough to warrant one on my own car, but there a plenty of experienced people on this forum that I'm sure will be happy to chime in.

1st time G35driver. any suggestions?

just purchased my first G today
a 2004 G35x
factory everything 2 owners
only owned for about 12 hours and im already in love...0_o

also new to the membership portion of the site, although i frequented it for months gathering information on the prior to buying. im almost Positive with what im going to do,mechanically and performance wise. for now im strictly looking into getting it visual sound, while i learn the ins and outs of the G.

im looking for an overall color scheme that compliments my white exterior and black interior. im thinking of plastic dipping or painting my factories black or white; vinyl wraping or painting my roof black; blacking out rims, possibly grill as well. then i want to black out lettings and emblems on the car along with a nismo lip wing at the end of the roof to compliment the glossed blackout look. a black on white( or vice versa) color scheme on the emblems is always an option.EVENTUALLY, id like to upgrade the body kit to the 05 sedan style or something similar that has elegance and sleekness at the same time. knowing it would mean upgrading to 05 lights and front hood; would it really be worth it??or easy? also would a factory spoiler mesh with all of these customizations? anyone have any similar (dead on or remotely close) please post pics and advise, would be greatly appreciated

also does anyone have the name or a threat link to fixing the material pealing off the top glove compartment.
or replacing the passenger seat motor.
explanations to these two aren't needed, as i know repetitive posts are frowned upon.

If you want an 05 bumper I think you'd have to replace the hood, grill, lights and fenders as well. Whichever bumper youre looking for, im almost certain the nismo bumper would look better. Going this route will save you tons of money. And a mesh grill, please no.

Although I do love me some contrast on the car, I personally think that too much contrast cheapens the look of the car. Just my 2c, take it with a grain of salt..

Yes if you want the 05/06 front bumper you need lights grill and and hood too. I would suggest just going for an aftermarket kit. popular ones being the Nismo:

the Kurookie:

or the K2:

As far as a rear spoiler I as well as most people aren't very big fans of the OEM (although some really like so if your one of em rock it it's you car). most go with either the HD trunk that has a little lip molded onto it:

some people have added a similar lip to their trunks with metal but if you don't have the skills to do it yourself the only real advantage is slightly better fitment.

Anther option would be the ever popular m3 spoiler:

I would also advise against plasti-dipping your wheels. it looks cheap and doesn't fool anyone. best bet is to just save up a little money and buy some nice aftermarket wheels that will have better fitment, and a better finish. hope that helps.

Where would be the best place to buy sway bars? I was gonna buy Hotchkis off amazon but the price shot up from $365 to $410.

EDIT: Ebay? Shipping is estimated 1.5 months but the price is right at 370 shipped
