Why does everyone love OEM stuff so much???

I keep seeing picture threads with people showing off their cars with OEM add ons & people give them huge props. "Wow your car looks so great" etc. I dont't get it! I know I'm going to be called a hater, I don't care. I understand when someone goes aftermarket & their car looks unique. Can someone explain why so much love on OEM cars?

oem= teh fail. jk
some people like oem parts because of various reasons. dealers wont void warranty, lot of r&d in oem parts, etc.
Im a fan of aftermarket!! but props to the people who go for the oem look, their car still looks clean. thats all that matters

Like 4Dr said all oem parts have gone through extensive r&d and are proven to hold up, most oem parts are cheaper and oem parts are usually clean looking mainly because there made for the car lol.

^What they said, i would also say part of it has to do with the age and taste of what people have. For example older people will not put blingy rims as much as younger people and the G35 is advertised for pratically everyone really. So you see a lot of older folks on here too.

Then again i have seen older people on here with sick rims, lowered, etc. and younger people with oem parts so yea..

Aftermarket doesn't always mean better.

Some don't want to be stuck with the boy racer image when modding.

Some OEM parts may be upgrades. In the coupe world, 06+ OEM head and tails than are actually mods to 03-05 coupes.

Some just like a nice, clean and simple looking car.

I'm all about modding, but some take it way too far.

I like moding OEM stuff. The fit is always dead on and most of the time it looks like it came that way from the factory if that makes sense

Fitment. It's all about fitment. Also, about modding a car to the point of how it should have left the factory in the first place. Sure there are people out there that want something completly different and unique. I'm all for that, but OEM fitment wins all in my book. No matter what the piece is.

I like em cause it gives me what i'm lookin for at an affordable price...

I wouldn't mind bling bling wheels but spending $3,500 and up for wheels that mite get curb and or jacked ( no garage ), can't do that rite now...

And with the type of work that i do, i just do see taking individuals to lunch in a dumped car with bling bling wheels..and a loud a** exhaust...

OEM parts also makes it easier to sell the car as well compared to have a full line up of aftermarket parts on it.

1) Oem parts are easy to come by
2) It's relatively cheap
3) Proven to work
4) Fit and finish like factory
5) Subtle yet still an "upgrade"
6) Personal choice

I'm all for blending OEM and aftermarket. I'm 35 and don't want a flashy ride. I want to make my G appear to be OEM, but make it the way I felt it should have come from the factory. I want someone to step back and say, what's different about this G? It's looks so much more sporty than other Gs I've seen. That's my goal.

I'm running a OEM springs off a Z and G coupe, shocks from the Z, a Y-pipe from an 07 Z, an airbox from the Revup VQs, a midpipe from a 05 G sedan, taillights from the 05/06 Skyline sedan, an Aero bumper, and aftermarket low key multispoke 18s. The car looks factory, but put it next to a stock G35 sedan and it will make it look like a base Camry. The handling and overall feel is much better as is the sound and throttle response of the VQ. All of these OEM parts were bought for well under $100 each except for the Aero bumper.
