a friend of mine installed a full megan exhaust including headers and HFC and i didnt hear any rasp

 

WOW that first clip sounds exactly like my car dead on, now the second clip sounds better but it does seem your getting rasp, too bad you didn't have a drive by clip.

 

OK so I got a Magnaflow resonater installed just after the Y comes into one pipe, the rasp is about 90% gone! The only time I hear a bit of rasp is if I'm hard on the gas between 2 & 3k RPM's (and its just a bit) and/or if I'm at high RPM's there is still some rasp over all much better and I saved $100. as opposed to taking the headers out.

 

test pipe with stock exhaust usually does that. i say go with an HKS, they seem to be very popular and look quite nice.

 

I never run test pipes on anything street car I build, High flow cats work great and barely rob any power at all.. I saw this test they did on a 700whp R34GTR on Best motoring I think it was, and with high flow cats it only loss 2hp on the dyno.

While I do agree that good high flow cats aren't a huge power loss as compared to test pipes, the design of the high flow cats also dictates how well it cleans the exhaust gases...

True, but ANY cat, being ****ty high flow, to the best high flow is still better than none at all when it comes to cleaning exhaust gases... without trying to sound like a tree huging, granola eating hippeh.. its something that I think is easy enough to do, and be responsible at the same time, with minimal hp loss.
