Random Little Question Thread
I have a question, i notice everytime i take my car out for the first time after warming it up, it seems to grind as it switches between 1st to 2nd...after that first grinding sound, it goes away...any ideas on what is causing this?

Good find Danny. It's pretty hard to describe how it sounds, but this nails it.
Thanks for your (forum) help on paint and headlights. I am in need of a window motor and was wondering if I should be worried about the ebay motors listed for around $190. Also, my factory sub is not on at all. I took down the small amp on the back deck and found no fuse or switch. I have also checked all three fuse boxes and am still unable to locate a fuse for the amp for the sub. I found two fuses listed as "radio" but both are good.
I have a couple of headlights for sale. Both are OEM with the HID. One (driverside) is cloudy. The other is in great shape. I was going to sell them on ebay but, this site has helped me out several times and I would be willing to sell for cheap. Im in Melbourne, FL.

i have seen tons of stuff on lowering and springs and specifically some posting spring rates. What is the source of some of the numbers. In particular, some are advertized as progressive. that implies a a nonlinear spring rate like the first in is 300 lb/in but the second inch may be 330 lb/in. I alos dont see the spring "free lenth" listed. these are both impotant in calculating the drop. any takers here?
Another related issue is the Tire/Wheel weight, spring weight, the effective spring rate of the tires, and damping ratio of the shocks/struts. i dont see that info either. Any takers here?
Ok to make this more simple, has anyone changed to just a lighter wheel and tire combination to se how it affected the ride and handling. Did it matter more than having wider(heavier) tires on the back?
