Quick question. When I get on it, say above 4k rpm, sometimes it smells like rotten eggs after I let off the throttle. Any ideas?

Sulfur smells like rotten eggs... one of the divisions I work for hauls prilled and molten sulfur from refineries - if you have crap gas that could be what you are smelling from exhaust...

its not the gas, i use sunoco 93 and sometimes shell. I have heard that sometimes with testpipes you can have some nasty smells so I am wondering if my cats are done for... road salt can be tough on the ****ty metal that they make the OEM exhaust out of...

I know of nothing else that smells like rotten eggs...

new exhaust components will often has a unique smell for the first 500 miles or so (but I wouldn't describe it as rotten eggs).... other than sulfur, I don't know what it could be.

I used to get it a lot too. I used the same gas station forever and got it a little more than usual one summer. I started going to 7-11 and it has not smelled since.

you quoted the wrong guy... I'm not the one with the problem - and trust me, my setup isnt the norm so it would be hard pressed to decipher any issues for mine...

but what you quoted was my response to the guy with the sulfur smell (or rotten egg smell - or Ashly's farts as it turns out)...

thanks for the info. I dont always fill up at the same station and the smell will come and go so I am wondering if it is bad tanks of gas. I will try some other stations and see whats up

Not rele the different stations just use premium only and you'll be fine this sometimes happens with newer cars aswell I for get the exact reason why my friends an A man (head or experienced guy who knows from A-z) for nissan and I borrowd his 350z for a run to the store and got nervous but he explained it out something with the cat adjusting to the gas
