Random Little Question Thread
#4456
About to hit 80k on my G Sedan. Owned for 2 years and have never been to the dealer for routine maintenance (I do it all my self). I will however take it to Infiniti to have them lubricate the chasis and clean & readjust my parking brakes.
Anywho, I have a question regarding Seafoam. I watched Bythabay's video on cleaning the throttle body and read alot of posts of people screwing theirs up in the process of cleaning it. Has anyone any experience with using Seafoam as an alternative? I want to put it in the crankcase, throttle, and gas tank. If I use Seafoam, I wouldn't need to disassemble my TB to clean it manually; therefore greatly decreasing my chances of damaging it.
Any info from someone with first or even second hand experience is greatly appreciated!!

Gonna do the ATF flush myself. Was wondering if it's necessary to install the Magnefine In Line Transmission Filter as well. Not sure if it's climate dependent or exactly what benefits it provides, but I'm located in So Cal if that makes any difference. Just saw it as a DIY on InfinitiHelp and wanted to see if it's necessary.

the rims are not the normal ones that came on the 05/06 sedans but they are OEM chromed ones that the dealer installed before the car was sold brand new.
and they're 17's so I doubt that's the issue
I know I miss my 03 sometimes

If you run good oil it has cleaning agents in the oil already so I dont see a need to put anything into the crank Case.
For the fuel their are better products then seafoam. aka Redline Si- 1
For the intake, There is seafoam and Amsoil stuff, but other then that there arent any other good products.
