I hate California and anyone attempting to be green.

Now I'll go change my oil every 1,000 miles.

**** you cali! you and your stupid smog laws! Take that!

^and remember, the best way to dispose of your used oil is by pouring it down the throat of a baby seal

I pour it in a mug and drink it as if it were coffee.

Here is another link by CA state that has taken this initiative. http://www.checkyournumber.org/

It shows 2005 g35's oil should be changed every 3750 miles. i wonder how correct it is.
Please advice. thank you
Which oil do you use? The only way to find out is to send a Used Oil Sample to blackstone labs, they will send you a kit, and get a test with TBN. Run like 4k then see what is says, It all depends on how you drive and where you drive...ect

I get my oil changed at Midas. They use chevron lubricants and is according to manufacturer's recommendation. I think it is mineral 5w30.

i will try to do as you suggested for next oil change which is in 500 miles. hope to get some good analysis and results.

^ eh Chevron Lubricants, Id get the actual name of the oil they are using, most likly its Havoline though, I haven't heard of anyone on here using that oil heh.

But see what the oil analysis says, I sent one in a week ago, still waiting on it, I did 5k on Castrol Syntec

Very interested to see your results as I just changed my oil yesterday with 0w30 German Castrol.

German Castrol is pretty different compared to Syntec 5/30, Syntec just changed to SN formula so its thicker, which is great. I just have one little issue with a result that came back which is specific to my engine, so trying to figure it out first, before I post

So is it bad to use those lubricants? Are they any good?

I don't see why i should buy one for $20, take it to a shop and get it done for another $10-15 and end up paying $40 when i can have all this and tire rotated for $25.

please throw some light on it.
thanks

Like I said in the post, who knows how good or bad it is, get a UOA done and see how it works in your engine and your change interval, if it works out then great. If you see issues you change to a different oil.

As long as the oil meets the requirements stated in the manual you should be alright.
