Also our gauge clusters are not accurate, for instance mine is 2-3 mph off.
Please elaborate on how that calculates for Final Drive gearing...

I think the better question that hasn't been answered yet (previous page BTW) is do the 05's read their speed from the front sensors or the those in the rear???

They are saying due to the sensors being located on the axle splines instead of reading internally that the gearing shouldn't affect the rpm readings. (This is my original assumption, bc no thread about the gears ever mentioned it). I've know my tach/speedo was always a little off but when other people start to poke and prod at my theories i like to have second opinions. I knew about the tire calculator i just didn't have that site and I forgot where i was difference wise.

I'm pretty sure it's KH3 as the black obsidian has never changed throughout the years. You can always check the driver's door on any car for the color code,

Look it up. Pretty common problem.
Is this serious? I've searched around and apparently it's not a big deal? Anyone else has any theory? I'm driving 2000km road trip next week so I'm just wondering if it's not serious

I agree that it won't effect the RPM or speedometer readings, but it can effect your actual speed. On the 06/07's taller gearing will make the car think its going faster then it actually is, this doesn't happen on the 03/04's. I went from a 3.5 to a 3.7FD and at 80mph my speedometer displayed 90-92mph. Now, I've only observed this on several Coupes but I don't see why Sedans would be any different.

Since you went from a 3.5 to a 3.9 you should see a larger difference IF your car reacts the same as the newer models. Would definitely be helpful if you can prove one or the other since there seems to be no info on an 05 with a different FD

^but there is. Danny (thescreensavers) swapped from a 3.3 to a 3.5 and his is an 05, and if I'm understanding correctly, his speedometer, though inaccurate before, still reads the same now as it did before

I'm selling a pair of oem amber corners painted gloss black but the light doesn't shine thru em. Do you need the light to shine thru or no?

I used plastidip to do it. I think a lot of guys that want it permanent use rustoleum with a base primer and clear coat. There are a few DIYs if you just search paint g35 grill

As far as I can tell, instead of being at 3100rpms@80mph with the 3.5, I'm at 3100rpms@75mph. Definitely brings the car to life coming out of turns.

That's a factory option for the sedan tho.

I posted in the Wheels/Tires thread but no one responded.

For my 04x, will I be ok with an 18x9.5 +35 up front on stock suspension? I am not too good with offsets like you guys are on here.

I will be running my current tires on them that are 245/40/18

Also, how much of a stretch is that on a 9.5 with those tires?
