Tire size question.
Tire size question.
I just bought the M45 sport twin spoke 19" wheels for my 2003 Sedan. I know they are 8.5" all around. I want to put 225/40/19 tires on the front and 255/40/29 tires in the back. Will the 255 tires work? Will I need a spacer? Im also planning on lowering the car a bit, I have skunk 2 springs.
Thanks

Your tires would be .9" different and the diameter will be 3.4% off which may or may not cause issues with the VDC. Conventional wisdom says stay under a 3% difference F/R to be safe. 255/35 would be a better fit for the rear or 245/40 for the front as well. I understand you have a specific option, but if it were me I wouldn't pull the trigger.

Yep those are perfect sizes. I ran those before with no issues.
*edit*
I just re-read that the wheels are 19x8.5. That 255/35 is probably going to be too wide due to the width and profile.
I would go with a 245/40/19 all around instead.

Really?! Well I bought the 255/35/19 tires for the rears so I hope they fit.

Those will fit no problem on an 8.5" rim, but will look very meaty. The sidewall will stick out farther than the edge of the rim due to the width.
