2003 Sedan shocks and struts

If my G35 sedan has sport suspension do I get shocks and struts for the coupe?

Correct, the parts store shows shocks and struts for sedan except with sport suspension. The coupe is the only model that shows sport suspension shocks and struts.

If you have the sport and want to run coupe/z springs, you don't have to buy more shocks. Sedan sport shocks are stiffer than the non-sports.

Right, but they need replacing and I want to stay OEM. Just by the coupe parts and they will fit?

The coupe's standard spring rates are identical to those of the sedan with sport suspension.

This is what you want you want to match if you keep the sedan's sport springs....

The sedan with the optional 'sport' suspension however has even higher spring rates on the rear. These are also referred to as the 'revised' springs (2 red dots and one purple).

On a 2004 Sport Sedan, I am installing revised coupe sport springs all around with KYB GR-2 specified for the coupe sport suspension (417? lbs in the rear, same as the 350Z revised springs).

When you replace, make sure you also buy two each of the front and rear upper mounts.

Partsgeek had the best price because they are not charging me tax (i.e. Amazon). They also had a $15 off online coupon (google it).

Front
341366
341367

Rear
344455

Then also...
SM5482 - Shock Mounting Kit (need two of these)
SM5542 - Strut Mounting Kit (need two of these)

There is also a bellows (rubber boot and bum stop) kit KYB makes, but the suspension shop I am using said they rarely recommend replacing these unless they are damaged. These are easy items to pickup at a local parts store last minute if needed.

They have dropped over 100 Gs here in Socal and said that they highly recommended the KYBs as replacements for the very expensive OEM shocks/struts and stated that they have never heard of anyone having problems with KYBs (contrary to what you may have read on here).

The KYB website is one of the best places to figure out the exact part numbers to use as the various parts sites online often confuse the parts. For instance, the part numbers above show up on partsgeek as 350Z part numbers.

Mike

Also understand if you put coupe springs/shocks on your sedan it will lower your car as well.

Correct, roughly .5 of an inch. I dug through a series of threads on here the other day and found one guy that put coupe springs all around on his sedan and it looked good (subtle, yet very close to the G/Z combo). I wish that I would have saved a link to the photo. The car will still align to the middle of the sedan alignment specs with these springs, which is one of the main reasons I selected them. That and have become addicted to OEM mods and parts exchange between the Coupe, Z and V35. Does anyone know if there are any good threads on driver related to OEM modifications ?
