I just bought DBA 4000 t3 t-slotted rotors for my 06 g35x not sure what pads to get. The whole ceramic vs composite.. Kinda confused. Was thinking hawk pads? Thanks.

 

I got akebono pro act ceramic. They are great. I haven't seen any brake dust yet. They are not track pads. They are better than stock.

 

You're going to love those DBA rotors I've had mine on for over 20K miles! Hawk HPS pads are what I've been using since my first set of OE pads worn out at 10K miles. Hawk pads last a long time and leave very little brake dust on your wheels. When you install them do the Hawk "Bed In" process (search) that alone will give you 30% better stopping ability. Hot weather or cold these pads work great!

Thanks. Yeah i cant wait to get these rotors on. They look sweet, heard nothing but good things about them. Glad there not made in china like everything else seems to be these days.

 

So you think the hawk hps composite over the hawk performance ceramic? From what i read the past day seems the composite ruin the rotors quickly compaired to ceramic. I dont know how true this is. Seems to be different views on all this. The T-slot with composite rotors will destroy them in 25k is what ive been reading. Is this true? Semi-metallic will melt n stick to rotors? Really? Seems like ceramic is the only pad not getting bad reviews.

 

I run the Akebono ACT pro's on my car. No complaints here. Very little dust and zero noise at all

 

With 20K miles on my DBA rotors using HAWK HPS pads they show no ill effects! The reason for doing the "Bed In" process with HAWK pads is to coat the rotors with substance from the pads so they'll grab quicker and make zero noise. If you'll do more research, ceramic pads don't stop as well or last nearly as long...Gary

 

^^ I have the same setup. I got a package deal from one of the vendors on here and couldn't be happier with them. Been using Hawk hps for a while now and don't have anything bad to say about them.

 

Ok thanks for the advice guys. I live in new york will the hawk pads work good in cold weather.
