ECU reset
ECU reset
Hi all is it possible to reset the ECU if my TPMS is ON?
I tried and couldn't do it. Should I just pull the battery will that reset work.
Also does the G35x have a passcode to the stereo if the battery is pulled, I know that my acura TL did.

That's not how you reset the TPMS system.
This system is pretty primitive. Unless you have a solid understanding on how the system works, it's not going to be easy. There are threads on this if you'd like ot pursue it. Do a search

And as far as I know there shouldn't be a password. First time I heard of a thing
No the password is a Honda gimmick. Who steals stock stereos. Your tpms will shut off when you refill the tire and drive a bit. If it does not there is a problem with one of the sensors. I dont have my sensors anymore and the tpms turns on after about 25 miles of driving, but resets every time i turn the car off.
What exactly is the goal you're trying to accomplish OP? Are you trying to get rid of the TPMS light or an ECU reset?
And the TL speakers are very nice stock. Hate to say it but it's better than our G speakers.

I am trying to reset the ECU but I am wondering because the TPMS light is on will the ECU reset?
I had the TPMS diagnosed I was under the impression that one sensor went bad but I had it checked and sensors are fine, firestone told me to drive the car for about 25 miles and if the TPMS light doesn't go off they would run more tests. Any other ideas what might be wrong with the TPMS ?
Thanks guys

I want to reset the ECU because my service engine soon light is on.
I has the code pulled and it was P011 which is camshaft positioning sensor bank 1, however someone on the forum said that it is also can be triggered if you have a dirty oil filter or a low oil level. The first thing I want to rule out, don't want to change the sensor if I don't have too.

Don't you know anyone with an OBD2 scanner? Just have them erase the code and the light goes away.
You can also head to autozone and borrow their scanner and erase it.
Or just buy your own. They are pretty cheap for the basic read/erase tool. Anyone who does any sort of car maintainence on their own car should have an OBD2 tool

And if it is the camshaft sensor. Might just be good to replace it. If it's whack your car might turn off on you while driving. Happened to me before, but it never happened again since. So didn't replace it. Heard it was to do with the sensor
