I'm curious to know how many people who have disconnected their G35's battery have actually seen a difference and if so, what is it?

I'm debating on whether I will truly see a change in performance from what I've read in past posts and if so, how much. When I first got my car, as most people I'm sure, I took it pretty easy. Didn't go past the 4k RPM's, didn't do heavy acceleration and just took it easy.

Besides my radio settings will anything else get screwed up should I disconnect the battery such as my navigation system, etc..

Is it worth it I guess is the bottom line and how many people have done it and have truley noticed a difference.

Depends how 'soft' your tranny is. If you've been grannying for a while, you'll notice a big diff in shifting quality, and when manually shifting, it'll be quicker shifting. So I say you will notice a difference. It's an easy thing to do, so tell us your inpressions after you've done it.
As to what you'll lose besides radio presets when you disconnect the batt.: Only Average mpg's on Navi, and distance travelled on odometer 1 & 2.
So not much. If and when you do this, disconnect the negative battery terminal so as not to get any arcing, and I leave it dicsonnected for a full 12 hrs. as recommended by the tech as the dealership. Some others have done it for 3 hrs with similar results.

I have done it several times. Bought a K&N high flow air filter.
K&N said to disconnect for 1 hour to reset the computer. Well.....
It actually takes 12 hours to reset the computer. The computer
will loose it's memory of your "Nancy" driving and will shift crisper.
Radio setting are easy to reset.

God I love this car!

3 hours works - press gas pedal for 2 mins and excess current is drained out of system - i do a min after disconnect and one min before reconnect

The brake pedal is what you meant,right?

It would be the brake pedal. The brake lights are what drain the excess current from the system.

How about keep head light on for 5 min will do it? or it will completely drain the battery?

The headlights w/n come on anyway, since the battery is disconnected. The reason for the gas pedal is that the "G" is drive by wire and there is a connection maintained to the ECM, which is the residual voltage charge you want to dissipate from the capacitors on the main board.
