Sorry if my comment offended you, but seriously, don't get all mad now...you know exactly what I am talking about. You commented on his "restraint" to actually answer a question instead of just telling someone to search. My GOD? What has this board come to?!?

Let me illustrate...

https://g35driver.com/forums/showpos...02&postcount=8
https://g35driver.com/forums/showpos...11&postcount=3

https://g35driver.com/forums/showpos...69&postcount=2

My point is that sometimes long-time posters with enourmous amounts of knowledge and experience (like yourself) revert to "shut up and search" posters "because that was covered". I think that's crap. It gives noobs the impression that experienced members are not here to help and that the board is simply a tome of information. You are the type of owner who knows so much, but comes off as completely un-approachable when you do this. Not to mention search can be difficult, both technically (cannot search for less than 3 characters so how do you find an S?) or in the fact that there is a lot of noise when you search on a topic with fourteen pages and nothing to do with what you are looking for but hit on a search term.

This is a community of enthusiasts, is it not? Everything has been covered somewhere. Me? I like helping people. I prefer my posts to be about answering a question rather than directing posters to the search button.

Hence the joke!

And no - this was not a lot of work. Finding these posts is pretty easy - there are HUNDREDS of them if you would just use the search....

AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!

Right back atcha, post *****.
T0pher, the Patron Saint of Newbies. God bless your little heart.

Since you love helping so much why don't you do the searches for them? Seems like you're pretty good at it.

The fact of the matter is people don't try and do a search before they post a question that has been asked and answered a hundred times before. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to spend a lot of time with these posts. Especially if it will take a long, drawn out explanation to answer the question. They demand instant gratification and refuse to do any research on their own. I have no respect for that kind of attitude. If someone says "I tried a search but..." then I'll try and help.

My GOD? What has this board come to?!?
How would you know what this board was like?

As far as the "S" comment goes.
1) I never told anyone to search in that thread.
2) I don't know what the "S" stands for.
3) If I did know the answer, I would have posted it.

Now why don't you go back and find the posts I made where I helped people? Not to mention all the PM's I get. Ever consider that? Let's go Spin Doctor, get to work! You make it sound like I'm some kind of G35 encyclopedia, but I refuse to give up any information. That's BS, and if you have been around for any length of time you would know that. So from now on, before you go running off at the mouth, know what the hell you're talking about.

You are so very, aren't you?

Look, Cru - I am not trying to make enemies and I am not picking a fight. And I am not trying to out-wit you with well thought-out banter or engaging in some conspiracy to "spin" you as some sort of a$$. My comments about you being the "G35 Encyclopedia" (as you put it) is a compliment to your knowledge. I know that because I HAVE seen the many posts where you helped. THAT'S MY POINT.

You say you don't want to spend a lot of time on these posts - why spend any? If you don't want to answer a question that has been asked so many times and that you know the answer to, then don't post. Posting to tell someone to search is pointless. People (myself included) search all the time, If they don't get an answer, they will keep searching. But there are THOUSANDS of pages to read here. It would take days to get an answer on some things by reading all the back and forth. So posting in hope that someone who already invented that wheel will respond is much more practical that re-inventing it yourself.

As for your comment about searching for the newbies (that I apparently am the patron saint of now), I do that... I actually read the 04 owners manual trying to see if I could find what that damn "S" is in ChicagoX's gear display because I want to know too. I like solving problems - it is what I do for a living and also as a hobby.

I am finished with this conversation. Again, (seriously) no offense, flame, or 'attack' intended by any of my comments - I just hate to see this sort of thing and thought I would take the opportunity to provide some feedback. Take it or leave it.

I must be losing it. I'm arguing with a guy that's been here a whole two months.

Listen t0pher, I'm not going to change the way I conduct myself on these forums. If you don't like it, too damn bad.

BTW, this whole subject has been discussed so many times before I've lost count. Why don't you do a search.

Cru--he is the old guy at the Whataburger drinking coffee at noon reading the paper and sneering at the younger people coming into the burger joint. Don't **** him off--you never know if you may need him to give you a Jump.

On second thought: Cru--get a life, will ya--you post biitch you, skank, sluuut with a sweaty, dirty keyboard(don't analyze that)

Advice for the newbs: If cru gives you shiiit, just remind him of his self-admitted 3" *****. If you don't believe me, you guessed it you bunch of scholars.............................do a freaking search.
