2 mid pipe or a/m exhaust

I was going to get a coupe middy and a Hks muffler or should I go the route of waiting for Borla to make cat-back for the 04X or go with the Stillen? Any and all replys welcome.

It really depends on what you are looking for and then your opinion on what sort of sound you like.

I will have the coupe middy and HKS rear by the end of the week.

Do a search in the exhaust forum and see what you can find to help you make your decision.

Heres one to get you started (with sound files of HKS rear)

Good luck

Could you possibly post some sound clips with the coupe middy and HKS rear? Thanks.

You can use a digital camera and record as a video.

Very different. High pitched vs. the deeper tones I've been hearing. I'd love to here a clip with the car in motion, inside and out.

Get to work!!! J/K

Thanks for the clip.

Don't know 'bout making a $1,000.+ cat-back purchase predicated on a digital sound clip on my PC. I've had the multi sectional/ over priced Borla cat-backs on other vehicles (switched to Corsa) and currently have the 'new' version of Stillen's cat-back on my X. I love it .....but if ya want a sssshhhhh/quite stock-like exhaust note........stay in the house and sort socks and fold your 'T' shirts. This is a great performance exhaust with a very exotic "Euro growl/roar all the way through the power band. Tremendous pull from low to mid range is especially noteworthy ! Good luck. BCool, JBX

I'm curious, you state that it's not quiet in your description, but the text on one of the pics says that it is quiet?? Could you clear it up? Maybe I'm reading your post wrong?

Thanks

Albert

Good question, and I should've gone on to explain the obvious contradiction. As a lot of ya already know, after-market/performance exhaust systems seem to go through a break-in process.....during which they all seem to get louder. In my case it took about 600 to a 1,000 mi. I'm also not trying to scare anybody when I say that it's a good throaty, higher decibel, exhaust note, but, I'm always surprised at what a low threshold of pain some so called "performance" oriented members here have. I guess they're the same guys that would leave stock pipes on their Harleys too...lol.....different strokes huh? Sorry 'bout the omission. UBCool, jbx

I've got a 350z midpipe which is the same part as the coupe middy for sale if you're interested.

Except for the more than 6" difference in length. This means it's not quite a "do it yourselfer" anymore....unless your stats include welding....no??? UBCool, jbx..... WANT MY SIG. BACK
