D51R YELLOW TOP

I have one in right now if you want i can take a picture for you to prove it or you can take my word for it.

It is also smaller and lighter than the 34/78 which has dual terminals you don't need.

FIND A 51R yellow top

are the power ratings on the 51R better than those on the 34/78 or 34?
I take your word for it! I don't have the webpage book marked on my friends computer, I will have to look it up when i Get home......but i remember the 34/78 having the highest power ratings between them....I don't remember the 51R off the top of my head....

D34/78 ratings are:
Peak Discharge (MCA) of 870 amps
Cold Cranking Output (CCA) of 750 amps

thanks for the link....that's the one i have bookmarked....twice the weight compared to the other yellow top....but what is it compared to the stock battery???????? if little weight difference (from stock) then the extra power is great to have!

also forgot to mention this is for the coupe.....shouldn't make a difference.....

yeah i'm tempted to go and weigh the stock battery....but the 34/78 is less than stock? also the D35r has been used by members, its power is inbetween that of the 51 and 34/78.....

stock is like 34 or 36.

d51r is 23 or 25.

i don't remember exactly... but it's about a 10 lb difference. i have an aftermarket amp, and the d51r is plenty of power for me.

10 pounds less......than stock? so the stock weighs 36 lbs?

so the 34/78 weighs about 6 pounds more than the stock from what you said....does anyone have this? in their coupe/sedan? 34/78 has some nice numbers...

D51 26.0 lbs 9.25 x 5.0 x 9.0
volts 12 amp 41 cca 500 ca 625 Size: Small cycles 350 reserve minutes 70

D35 37.0 lbs 9.0 x 6.7 x 7.8
volts 12 amp 48 cca 650 ca 810 Size: Med-Small cycles 350 reserve min. 98

D34/78 42.9 lbs 10 x 6.8 x 7.8
volts 12 amp 55 cca 750 ca 870 Size: Medium cycles 350 reserve min. 120

this is great nfo, but now i've got a question.. if the power from the deep cycle yellow top is so great- would this eliminate the power starvation of our motors at high rev? Another way - does this mean that this battery would replace the need for a grounding kit?

I've read the benefits of grounding kits/(see link).. and have been considering it.. thoughts?

nope, grounding kits reduce noise right? so this battery is going to provide more power so the noise may have less of an affect but it will still be there, some1 else feel free to correct me if i'm wrong
