Anybody know the specs on the OEM sedan battery? I know it's an 80D26L, but i find CCA specs anywhere from 445 to 582, and Ah from 40 to 55. I'm not running any ICE other than a couple extra gauges, just want a lighter replacement battery...but I need to know the OE specs first so I know which Optima/Odyssey to get. Thanks.

 

Check the manual. I'm almost positive it's in there.

I guess I should have been a bit more specific; I'm relocating my battery to the trunk, so I'm not concerned about fitment. I just want the lightest battery possible within OEM specs. At this point I'm considering running two Optima 6v batteries in series for better wieght distribution.

 

After reading the threads regarding Optima batteries, I am still not clear if my Optima D34/78 will fit in my G35 coupe. Want to intall a system and already have this battery from my previous car. Do I need an extender? If so, does anyone know where i can purchase one?

 

The easiest way to see if it will fit is to pull out the battery that is there now and see if the Optoma that you already have will fit.

 

They have this new high-tech device called a ruler or tape measure now. I think they teach operation at most community colleges. (We need a smiley for smart-****! My pain meds are really rocking tonight!)

Perhaps the comment telling you to test fit the battery was more illuminating for your mystery. Personally, I would rather move a ruler than a battery, but, to each his own. Grow up. Just an update. I finally got around to installing it. On their website, they mention that a bracket is included. Make sure you get it. Or else the battery is too small for the hold downs to work. Unless you rig a big spacer or something. But fits fine and works well.

 

Good point. I was not able to use the hold-down with my current battery.

 

For reference. See in the notes below. The bracket actually comes with a large bracket with one small add on at the bottom. I tried using both but it was too tall. Remove the small one and it's perfect. When I first received the battery, it didn't come with one so I had to ask for it after the fact. Might save time to make sure you ask for the bracket specifically when ordering.
