I saw on this forum, a guy just ran it to the rear seat armrest cubby. that works pretty easy so I'll probably do that initially. I don't know where I can get an iPod cable long enough to reach from the trunk to the glove box, which is where I would ultimately like to keep my iPod.

Am planning to initially just keep the iPod in the trunk, since the harness is right there; will just velcro the case to the side panels (like the first aid kit etc.). Assuming it works well and I like it, will probably eventually put it back into the center console.
I just picked up my G35xS....really excited about the SOW
i have mixed feelings about it. When i play the radio...the music is crisp and clear...plenty of bass (tuned to max base). Same when listening to iPod. However when playing a CD, its not as powerful as it should be...why is that?
Plus...does anyone know a quick way to rip CD's to the Music box? I dont want to have to listen through the WHOLE cd to rip. also...can i only choose certain songs? not the whole cd?
Also, I read on an earlier page that someone was able to get MP3 cd's to play in the changer....thats really impressive...because mine doesnt! Does it matter whether the changer is in the trunk or not? (mine is)

I only have to listen to 3-4 songs of an album and the entire cd will be recorded on the Music Box. I can also listen to other sources e.g. XM, iPod, radio while the cd is burning so you dont actually have to listen to the whole cd
it's the best sounding Bose system I've heard in a car. Bass is there and its quite a bit crisper than most Bose systems I've heard. I could use a tad more Bass and in some situations, the mids are a bit strong, but overall, it's not too bad for a factory system. I do believe however that the adjustment should have more than a Bass and Treble.... if they're going to call it "Studio" then it should have a 3 or 4 band EQ.
I agree the sound system isn't all that special, I just added 2 12 inch subs to my stock Bose system and it really made a difference. I would say for all of the "younger" crowd that like there bass, and likes there car to beat. Just add some subs to your bose system and you'll be happy. I did and I am.

I agree with the above statement. I bought new components for the front and rear and a high power 4 channel amp for them.I added my two 12's just for some bass and have yet to fool with the stock bose speakers yet because with the bass on 0 on the radio, i have plenty control of the bass with my bass **** and it takes stress off the bose speakers and i think it sounds great for a stock system. I'll change out the bose speakers when i really feel the need to put in my other ones. But for now, stock speakers with 2 12's is loud and clear enough for me.
I think it sounds decent. The XM quality is pretty bad. I had sirius that I hooked up through a line input in my old car and even with stock (cheap) Toyota speakers, sirius sounded better.
I am not going back to having a second receiver so I have to decide if I'm going to keep my XM or just used regular old FM.

I'm overly impressed with the sound system. I've never had a stock sound system this crisp, clear, loud and have this much bass. It is leaps and bounds above the quality of the harmon kardon system in my old 330ci.

I ran 0 gauge from the battery to the trunk in less than 20 minutes. Its really so simple. Just pass the wire through the grommet behind the battery and it will come down behind the glove box. Then just fish it under the carpet and under the rear seat through one of the holes in the barrier between the trunk and the cabin. The power wire for the bose amp is not sufficient enough for an aftermarket amp, especially one for bass.
