Door locks repeatedly clicking to lock position while car is on or off. Any ideas?
I searched other threads to see if anyone had posted a similar issue, but I wasn't able to find anything.
I have a 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe
Recently my door locks have started clicking to the locked position repeatedly. This occurs whether the car is on or off and is happening on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle. This causes the battery in my car to die on a regular basis.
I also noticed that when the locks are clicking incessantly, that the passenger window will not roll up or down. I'm not sure if that's related, but it only happens while the locks are clicking.
If anyone has ran into this issue with their car I would love to know what the fix was. I took it to the mechanic and they recommended I take it to the dealership. I don't want to pay that kind of money, especially if it's something small. Supposedly the mechanic tested wires in the door panel and checked to ensure the fuse boxes were working properly. I cannot verify how accurate that information is.
Thank you to anyone willing to lend some advice!!

It may well be something small but if the dealer finds it within an hour it could end up being cheaper than you just guessing and replacing random parts making something simple much more difficult to diagnose.
Was your vehicle ever involved in a flood?

You get what you pay for.

I talked to an Infiniti mechanic. It could be a range of things, could be as simple as the remote key malfunctioning and replacing it to replacing the master switch, door buttons, etc.
I'm starting with the key (since its such a cheap fix) then probably taking it in if I can't figure something else out.
I was able to get my hands on the wiring diagram however for the power door lock system so I'll run a multi-meter through the master switch and a few other components to see if we can find a dead end somewhere.
Running my car on the computer, the computer shows that both of the doors are stuck in the "Lock" position, which is triggering the locks to keep engaging.
For anyone else that runs into this problem, you can find the Body Control Module wiring diagram for the power door lock system here:
I'll update this thread as I am able to find out what's going on and get the fix for anyone else that may run into this later.
I'd troubleshoot in this order.
1. Remove battery from key fob to rule out a broken fob.
2. Use the key in the door to manually work the exterior lock, also test the HOLD function to verify correct window operation from the door lock.
3. Disassemble driver and passenger door panel, unplug the lock SWITCH (near the door handle) one at a time to see if one of the switches is broken.
4. Unplug the key lock switch, I believe only the driver door has a key lock provision.
4. Unplug the window control switch on each door one at a time.
5. Unplug each door lock actuator.
Page 14 of the FSM covers door locks but it's pretty vague about it's troubleshooting steps.

My gut feeling is you will find that unplugging the door lock switches (not the actuator) will find the problem, one switch is probably stuck in the lock position (or possibly the exterior door key switch) and the BCM keeps sending the LOCK signal out to the actuators, this would also explain why the system is sending a constant LOCK signal to the BCM.

Read page BCS- 38
You may need to substitute a good BCM to see if the trouble clears?
If not the problem could be in the wiring harness?
Best to use a consult lll to locate the problem.
If you don't want to pay a qualified trained dealer technician then just keep guessing, replacing random parts, wasting time, along with much aggravation.
These vehicles are not your fathers Oldsmobile.
