Were they speeding?
Were they texting?
Were they intoxicated?

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
The pictures in the linked article are horrifying. The car is completely destroyed, they had to be hauling a$$ to cause that much damage. From what I could tell there weren't any skid marks and half of the car was under the tank. RIP guys, this is a terrible way for their friends and family to remember the holiday with an accident that was completely preventable.

There's also a lot of very experienced drivers that simply aren't aware of how little structural material is between you and the outside world when in a car. It's a mercifully thin piece of folded sheet metal that does little to protect you when you slam into things.things.
The glass provides even less protection and that's what surrounds most of the cabin.

Lol yeah it really doesn't matter, you lose your car at highway speeds you'll be phenomenally lucky to walk away from it, most people ride away in an ambulance and a few ride away in the coroners wagon. If you happen to catch a crash at just the right angle to deploy the airbags in a manner that they were designed for then it can limit you to broken arms/legs/spine/face with 2nd degree burns but they don't do jack in a roll over, don't do jack if you hit a truck that sits higher than your bumper.
4.5 million people injured bad enough that they required medical attention in 2017.
40,000 people KILLED by vehicles in 2017.
It's the biggest reason I stress to people to keep their vehicle maintained, PREVENTATIVE maintenance. Fix your brakes before they're on the squealers, change your tires BEFORE they're bald or before their 6th birthday, don't wait for those tie rod ends to break, don't wait "just one more year" to fix those struts. These things can mean the difference between injury or death when they fail at the moment you need them most.
And for gods sake don't tempt fate by driving like a jackass on public roads, sure I'm guilty as anyone but I've gotten really good over the years at just setting my cruise control and enjoying the scenery.

Pretty much the reason the 350z had the highest death rate for many years. Decent horsepower for a very affordable price=inexperienced driver's doing stupid ****. I guarantee you every family and friend that knew those passengers will think twice about putting a seatbelt on next time. Driving will likely be the riskiest thing you will do in a lifetime

They automatically fasten their seat belts when getting into their car seats.
They are already smarter than some adults.
