Stillen CAI dry filter replacement.
^^^ your pic corroborates what I said (based on measuring the filter media only, not accounting for the metal top or any part of the rubber collar – I measured this way based on the diagram on AmsOil website)... 4.25" vs 6.5" is a very big difference... the closest Ams is 6.5" long.
I have looked at the area near the composite core support - there isn’t enough room.
Stop trying to convince me otherwise Jeff... just buy one, do whatever you think needs to be done to make it work and post up your results.

Has anyone thought of writing to K&N to find out the PN? Mine just went in a couple weeks ago, clean and oiled, and it ain't comin' out anytime soon!
Here's something that may or may not help, the only two with a media height of 5":

Who waits 20K to 30K miles to change an air filter? Crazy! I change mine when I change the oil at 3K. Buy a second filter and do it as swap. For all the focus and energy spent on 5 extra HP, it's hard to believe the laziness when it comes to maintenance. It's the care that keeps it powerful!
No one really does that. I usually cleaned my K&N every 10k or so.
I used to be pretty gung ho about the dry cleanable dry filters (I run the Amsoil ea panel) but Dave B mentioned it eventually got clogged up after about 30k despite him cleaning it per the instructions. I'll just go back to my K&N or just use oem paper units and replace every 10k or so.

I did not read the this thread but why K&N and not switch to a dry, non-oiled filter like AEM or R2C? Your MAF and throttle body will thank you.

They said the dry one or AME doesn't fit you have to modify it to fit and I was seeing if there's one out there that you don't have to modify because I have the same exact intake on my G35

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

If you would have read this thread you'll see that the R2C filter will fit only if you trim the front of the Stillen box. It's too big to fit without modifications.
WiWil anything fit with out doing mod ?
