350Z HR Y-pipe installed on a 2003 G35
I just picked up a y pipe from a 2007 350z without gaskets.
I know that we reuse the bolts from our sedan y pipe, but can we also reuse those gaskets as well?
Or do I have to get these:

(actually, they're probably the SAME gasket, they ALL come in NISSAN parts bags... just NISSAN and INFINITI specific part numbers!)

Bring it on hahaEither way you're fine though. If you can grab some for 4.00 like the link ^ ^ I'd say go for it since they're so cheap. Just make sure they're either the OEM ones or exactly the same so they won't cause any leaks
Today I finally went to go get my coupe midpipe installed and possibly the HR y-pipe that I picked up. Ended up getting only the midpipe put on because as I said/suspected before, the midpipe that was on there looked identical (in shape and size anyway) to the HR that I got off a g37. You can see that there is no way that the stock DE pipe that Dave posted on page 1 could fit here. The piping diameter was also the same, at least at the single outlet pipe.

The coupe middy/HKS combo/HR-ish y-pipe that I now have is not as loud as I had expected, but maybe that's because the midpipe sat in my living room for a few weeks and the anticipation ruined the end result.
Can anyone offer a logical reason as to why the HR would be any better than my stock y-pipe? I'm just stumped when it comes to why Infiniti chose to put this pipe on AWD versions only if it supports better flow like everyone says it does.
Looks like I may have a y-pipe for sale shortly...

My 2004 Gx has the same exact pipe... it looks just like DaveB's HR Y-Pipe, but WITHOUT the hockey pucks... it confused the heck outta me also in trying to identify WHAT pipe this was supposed to be...?!?
The dealer actually replaced my original y-pipe which was the DE "T"-pipe.. with this version.. which they insist is the pipe for the Gx... late 04??
I got nothin'... but it sounds good though.. I noticed a difference after I got the car back from the shop, but didn't think anything about it... long after the fact I was under the car and and had an "OH-S**T" moment when I saw the pipe that was installed!! It made sense why the car had a deeper sound to it.. I had the Y-pipe installed.. and didn't even KNOW!!

And about the measurements, I don't have a ruler handy, but the gasket from the HR pipe was a perfect fit for my stocker. I will take an actual measurement once I find a ruler.
Also, today I realized how much I love the sound of the y-pipe, coupe mid and HKS. I think I just talked myself into thinking it would be "oh ****" loud, which obviously it isn't. But I looooove the new sound
I believe this was discussed before already, the ypipe on AWD is very close to the 350z HR ypipe because it needs the extra room up front to clear the Transfer case for AWD.
Based on the research from Tony@Motordyne, it seems that a y (2 to 1 merge collector) further back from the engine would provide better top-end torque. This support my initial speculation why the ypipe on the HR has a merge collector further back from the engine (much further back when compared to the "T-shaped" ypipe on the DE engine)
Just my 2cents
