Yeah, that's probably in the end-game for the car - but for now, just trying to do a few things on a budget . I've got two good connections at local junkyards so I figure if I can pick one up from them for 40-50 bucks better than dropping a few hundred on the XYZ for now.

I'm still on the fence with the XYZ pipe. I've seen one dyno (Dynapack) showing some pretty solid gains from 4000rpms on up (about 7whp) with a pretty substanial loss of power below 2700rpms. I need to see at least one more dyno, preferably a Dynojet, before I consider yanking the HR Y-pipe. I don't like the idea of loosing around 15wtq/whp in the range that the car must launch in.

Yeah... I think I'll be stickin' with the HR Y-pipe.. since there seems to be obvious fitment issues with the G35x and the MD XYZ pipe.

I like the stainless steel Y-back VQ system though... will wait to see what the dual tip rendition of it looks like.

Otherwise.. I'm very happy with the sound of the OEM system we've managed to piece together here.. thanks Dave!

Looks like the HR Y-pipe might be worth a few HP and possibly inline with the gains from the MD XYZ pipe, but with no loss of power in the lower rpms.

In case anyone was wondering, this is what the HR pipe looks like without the heat shielding. Dunno if anyone else posted pics. There were actually 7 of these y-pipes, all cut up like this unfortunately.

Maybe this winter. I plan on replacing my wife's 98 Legacy GT wagon with a newer turbo LGT wagon. I may hold on her 98 LGT for about a month while I attempt to install the headers on my G. I just need to source them and the OEM HR cats.

I wouldn't mind trying the HR headers on my vehicle. Problem is i can't find anyone willing to sell them. Let me know if you guys have any leads, and I'll be glad to do a before/after test.

A couple people on my350 have gone with the GTM TT kit on their G37 and HR Zs.

I'd start there. Have you checked on some guys who have upgraded their headers yet?

I talked to Sam at GTM not too long ago about that. Seems like those who've upgraded don't want to let go of their OEM headers yet.
