Well, still looking for a HR y-pipe and I've found a number of people selling the whole 350Z HR exhaust setup but...
I am curious if anyone knows if the muffler on the 07-08 HR 350Zs is the same as the one that is on the 06-07 (revup) 6mt G coupes?
I don't expect any performance increase but maybe a beefier exhaust note could be attained.

Their exhausts went through some mild changes. As a result, the new HR Y pipe was born.
The 06-07 G 6MT coupe (revup) still had the 35VQDE motor= the older DE Y pipe was used.
Make sure you inspect the part you get before you plunk down the cash. By now you should know what part to look for.
Have the seller show you the exact pic of the exact part you're buying before you pony up the cash

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

So After some serious elbow grease, I got the OEM Y-Pipe off and installed the HR Y-Pipe.
I was skeptical at first, but you guys were right. Throttle response was noticeable instantly. My car is still stock. Driving on the freeway feels a lot better and responsive. Improved response when accelerating in 6th gear at freeway speeds (65-75 mph).
As for power increases, not noticeable.

awesome dude... it all about the tweak to the sound, and more so to responsiveness of your car... not so much a power gain, but making the most of what you already have!!
been running mine since last September, along with the 06 Air Box, Z-tube, drop-in filter, MD spacer and 06 mid-pipe.. what a sweet state of bolt-on mods to bring out the potential of these VQ35DE engines... w/o getting all SERIOUS about massaging the engine! (FI)
congrats and enjoy!

Bringing this back from the dead with another good review for the HR Y-pipe. I just had it installed this weekend. The first thing I noticed was a slightly deeper tone from the exhaust. Secondly, I was made well aware of the usefulness of the rubber dampers. The old y-pipe used to vibrate a hell of a lot, especially starting from a stop, no more. And lastly, as many have stated before, there is definitely a noticeable increase in throttle response. Overall, very happy with this money-friendly mod.
