Im getting a really annoying rasp/metallic sound anytime my rpms are over 3200. Any one else getting this with the stock exhaust and Megan V2s? Wondering if replacing the y pipe might help?

I have the HKS dual titanium exhaust and I don't here anything unless I really full throttle it but it is very minimal. Every body who heres me car they say it sounds like a supped up Porsche. The stock exhaust is very restrictive that I believe once you install the y pipe it should help. If that does not work then contact Megan Racing they really stand by there product.

I'm planning on installing these sometime this week, and am wondering what you guys used to connect the Megans to the oem bracket that holds the stock cats in place. The OEM cats have an extension obviously that reaches these brackets but the megans come with nothing.

I assume to all the guys who have had issues with the pipes cracking is because they didn't connect it to this bracket that's meant to minimize the cats from rattling and moving around too much. So before I install my V2's I want a solution on how to hook it up, I was thinking some kind of aluminum strips the type you use in construction.

you can see the bracket I'm talking about in this picture

Nothing to conect it to on the TPs so I just left my bracket off. I have the V2s so the flex pipe helps. Yeah maybe I'll get the XO2 exhaust and the magnaflow xpipe since xxxhotelcrazyxxx did a review with them and said it helped alot with the rasp. Installed my plenum spacer and I dont know how it would help but the tone got alot better.

As mentioned, no bracket is needed for the test pipes. It has flex pipes that will flex under load to prevent cracking. The cracking issues you hear are with the V1's that have no flex pipes.

G35 Dream, if you get the X02 with test pipes, you will get rasp galore as I did. The Maganflow X helped A LOT. I was embarrassed to punch it in public due to the rasp.

I kept getting the SEL light to come on, but once I got it tune it quit doing it. I believe if you scan your car it will throw two codes at you which will indicate that both of your O2 sensors have gone bad. I have the Cobb AccessPort and once Cobb sent me a tune for the car the light was gone and it has not come back on since.

I'm still torn right now on purchasing these. (I have an x02)

I've spoke with Jairen about his setup and as he's described earlier, he had some bad rasp. On the other hand, I have a friend that's sort of close to where I live that has them and he says it really isn't that bad. Just a little bit around 4k rpms and above or below that it's great sounding. I'm trying to meet with him again sometime soon before I make a final decision as I have only heard his car at low speeds.

Here's his video. The second half of it was just some experimenting he was doing, so the main focus is the first half of the video.

Holy ****e that sounds mean as hell at the end. A little to loud for my taste. So he was running straight pipes at the end right?

His "straight pipe" setup was the x02 h-pipe/resonator sectino then straights after that.

In this video you can't really hear the rasp but in Jairen's videos you can slightly hear that little bugger "ringing" sound

Thats what is driving me nuts right now. Thinking of tryin to wrap the TPs some more to see if it reduces it and if not Im gonna call megan and see if I can get a replacement. This sound cant be normal. Sounds like the mesh inside the resonator is loose and rattling.
