THE megan racing v2 resonated test pipe thread....
#106
I sold the coupe to please the wife, "happy wife = happy life" so they say. The Megan pipes should work out for you and give you a lil bit louder growl to go along with the coupe middy. I do have a sedan, but I changed it up and went with a Hyundai Sonata SE 2.0T, 274hp, 269 tq and avg about 25+ MPG all the time. I do miss the sound of my G35 and having a manual, but the extra room and extra features I think out weight that right now. If something happens to this car, I might make a jump back to Infiniti in an G37 coupe or sedan, but hopefully nothing goes wrong with this one.

Hey, guys (sorry for the bump) I am in the process of having items that i've purchased added to my G (which G stands for G35) the items I am having installed this week are: Megan Racing Test Pipes w/ resonator, M2 Performance Cat-back,cold air intake (CAI) & MD spacers. The 5/16 ISO thermal spacer.
I currently have a 04 AT coupe.
My hopes & dreams are that my car will be LOUDER and my butt dyno will feel faster.
and maybe gain 30-40 hp in the process.

My Megan V2s are great on sound but after 2 MN winters ,they're starting to show some wear & tear .
1.I think I blew one of my resonated cats because I'm starting to hear some rattling noise .
2. The flex points are starting rust and i have an exhaust leak from one of the flex points
3. I wouldn't recommend getting the Megan y-pipe with the Megan test pipes because of the flex points in both parts causes the exhaust to dip down. Thats why I went back to my stock y-pipe
4. They don't have the tranny bracket mounts that the Oem cats have .
Overall, they were OK but I wouldn't get them again because of the weak flex points and the lack of tranny bracket mounts
Happy tuning

I'm thinking about getting the Megan resonated test pipes but have also been reading a lot about the Fast Intentions resonated test pipes... obviously the FI's are more expensive and are better quality, but are the Megans that bad? I'm planning on keeping my stock exhaust and just putting on the RTP's, do the two have much difference in sound?
I'm not too concerned about the CEL with Megans, and I won't mind the smell. I do know that it will produce some rasp. Will there be less rasp if I replace the Y-pipe? Should I still go with Megans as a less pricey option?

I had the Megan and they were great. People would say my car sounded like a supped up Porsche. The only reason I changed them my wife did not like the smell. If you put non foulers on, it would eliminate the cel or a tune. I barely had any rasp because they are resonated. I have mine for sale if you are interested and I will give you the non foulers. Just hit me up and will send you a pic. They are basically brand new!
