As I have read through this entire thread I have found a couple of big things people should know.
1. The rev-up airbox is a good addition, it offers that sound almost everyone wants and some other perks...
2. The price is a little steep but meh...
3. Some people are childish and make complete fools of themselves. OCG35 im talking to you... You have made it completely obvious to me and everyone else in this forum that you are an idiot. Its amazing..... I will not argue with you nor anyone else for that matter and I believe that everyone is entitled to there own thoughts on a product. Your name calling and talking past people is idiotic. GET A LIFE. END OF STORY.
4. Dave, nice job on the find bud.

Please don't speak for me or anyone else for that matter. I don't always agree with OC, but I can assure you he's not an idiot. Make your opinions your own and nobody else's.

Unfortunately you came across as the idiot here. I'm not saying you are one, I'm just saying.....

^^^ on the contrary, I've been the only one in the thread to give real world review of three air boxes and gave truthful insight that the revup box actually was a detriment on my car...

Where you get the idea that there is a "sound" difference is beyond me. I can guarantee that 99% of all G owners (including you) would not know the difference from driving with an OEM revup air box and an OEM non revup (not by sound and not by performance).

I know these cold hard truths really get panties in a bundle for those that love to believe they just found some great new mod. But the fact is this was the biggest waste of $85 I ever spent. In fact, its still sitting in my garage after using it for one week.

As for the "name calling" - if you look at the conversation that took place, you'd understand that 2 ppl were intent on keeping the thread off topic and continued to make less than bright statements - if I have to highlight their inability to comprehend, so be it.

As for your contribution to the thread, if this is the best you can offer to the forum, I'm glad you only have 12 posts.

Good day

Oc, dave, and jeff all get +1 from me. All three have taught me a lot about the G from reading their post.

Odd, I thought I was pretty honest about all three also. Since I have run all three. Then again, I got the V-stack ring for like $30 or something from a guy with a broken Z airbox. Interesting view from someone totally foreign to the conversation though.

You guarantee this just because you didn't notice it? Did you ever consider the fact that you having cams on your G might be influencing the induction sound? The cams make your VQ have reduced volumetric efficency in the lower and midrange rpms. This will influence induction sound. It's basically like the Revup intake manifold (ie shorter runners). The manifold design changes the induction noise of the motor. I've experienced this first hand with my modded VQ30 as well.

For most us with the typical bolt-on VQ35DE, there is a difference in both induction noise and throttle response. It's not a huge difference, but most any gearhead will notice the change. From a "performance" standpoint, I don't anyone has claimed any power gains. That about as silly as claiming power gains from an aftermarket intake.

cool, glad you benefit from the good stuff that gets provided every now & then

The 3 of us typically argue about trivial stuff (and it gets carried away, every time ) but generally for things more substantial, and that would make significant changes to the G, we normally agree (we just don't express it, because it's a given).

Curious....how is it that a veturi ring on a stock airbox creates better power/response but aftermarket intakes with venturi do not?

I never said that. The problem with aftermarket intakes is that they reduce low and midrange throttle response due to their wide open design. It creates mild turbulence in the intake tract which impacts throttle response and leads to that "soft lowend" so many complain about when adding aftermarket intakes. Also being open to high engine bay temps while at a stop or low mphs doesn't help things either.

I installed a slew of other mods (HR Y pipe, and CMP) so no telling if this did anything at all lol..

btw, the airbox I got was from a Z, Just drilled out the rivets, and bolted it right on with the MAF tube. Quick and easy.

Are you sure about that?^^

I thought all revup motors had the bigger horn which seems to be proven by Storm's engine.
