Rev-Up airbox on a VQ35DE - special note
Just thought I'd point out that this airbox bolts right up to the FX35 also. Now I just need a spacer for the FX; already has z-tube and K&N, then I can get back to my 06 6mt

doesn't give you MORE horsepower.. it makes what ya have smoother and with better drivability... it "polishes" the throttle response of the engine.. not so much a "miracle" power/hp boost.. just makes a little beeter use of what you already have.
Also... the hole is NOT bigger.. it has a longer, more pronounced horn on the intake port.. THAT is what makes the differance. The original looks more like a "giant grommet".. rather than an intake horn!?!

it's a complete waste of money.
Unless its free, it's pointless... even if its free its not worth the time to install - but if it makes you feel good go for it.
I guarantee on a blind test no one would know which one was on the car by driving.

My thoughts is that the car felt a touch more responsive but that's just me. Any mod that would have to pass the "blind" test would have to have add at least 5-10hp IMHO. There are alot of little mods that would come under that "waste of time category". But alot of people do them and are convinced of their benefits.
I recently had this intake dynoed last week and lost power with it.
I installed a 06 rev-up box with a new paper filter and pulled 263hp and 235tq on my tune A/F was perfect.
Next was the takeda back box with stock front, but instead of using their filter I used the apexi power intake.
Power went down to 254 and 226 tq and the A/F got rich so the tuner got the A/F to the same as the panel filter and it still made less hp and tq. He immediately said put the other one back he could tell the difference on the dyno.
I may try another test with the takeda filter, but I'm sure the results will be the same.
Now I'm wondering if I could of ran 12's with the stock intake instead of the stillen CAB back in Dec.
I will compare the 2 at the track this weekend if the weather holds.
Stock airbox is the best. These test were done with a 3in MAF housing. I'll try to get the sheet and post it up.

Not a bad deal for $84 from Infiniti Parts USA: G35 6MT Air Intake Cover assembly
This guy might think otherwise:

Its the biggest waste of $84 ever... I bought one new, used it for one week and sold it some time later for $50... complete waste of money (and this is coming from someone that has blown a significant amount of money on his car - so not much makes me say its a waste).
