ART pipes are 'test pipes' They just don't suffer the typical losses associated with test pipes.

Anti-foulers are purely to stop the o2 sensors going, ahh, no cats.

And, someone else mentioned that typically most hfcs will fail sniffer tests, yes this is usually true.

this is very disconcerting...I would love to have these but knowing my luck with Cali smog stations I'd fail.

You always have the option of buying the ARTs, keeping the stock cats, and replacing the ARTs when it's time for inspection. Just depends on how bad you want them...........

^^^Well this is true. I just don't want to have to re-tune each time. May still be worth it from what I have been hearing

You wouldn't need to re-tune doing this, just go go revving it hard past 4k whilst the cats are on.

^^ What he said.. If you just swap them for the test then take them off you won't have any concerns. Just don't drive it hard again til you get the cats off.

Since my post is buried, Im going to ask again. ART pipes have a 2.5" exit, my borla has 2.25" inlets. Is it worth it for me to get a 2.5-2.25 adapter welded in the borla so that the change in diameter is less abrupt?

So, wanted to know if anyone else with ARTs is experiencing what I am. Basically, I often hear a kind of "fart" and feel a vibration while driving (hold the jokes, please. It's coming from the car, I swear. ). This pretty much only happens when I'm cruising in traffic, usually in 2nd or 3rd, and the RPMs are dropping. It happens exactly at 1800 RPM. This makes me guess that that particular RPM produces some sort of resonant frequency that causes the pipe to vibrate/fart.

The reason I believe it's the ART is because the vibration/noise seems to be coming from almost directly under the driver seat.

Any thoughts?

Go ahead and check the connections to the Y-pipe, the ARTs are not actually under the driver, they're in front.

did you cut off the bolt on the heat shield?

$20 says you didn't.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction. Pretty sure the installer did not cut off that bolt. Although, now I'm probably getting rid of the ARTs anyway (girlfriend has a very sensetive sense of smell ).

I' ve got the same sound and vibration. It's coming from under the driver side floorboard, i forget whether it is the Y-pipe or ART pipes (both motordyne) but I've had two installers tell me there's nothing they can do outside of bending the floorboard for clearance. I thought there weren't supposed to be clearance issues. If I had known that, I probably wouldn't have bought them. anyone else having these issues on a 6MT sedan?

So I'm kinda confused here. I just ordered the tdx v2 with ART pipes and I don't have any other breather mods so would I still need a tune and will it run rich or will I be fine for a few months till I get my other breather mods?
