Yep, sounds exactly like a straight-piped VQ. If the helmholtz resonators were able to get rid of the drone then that's pretty cool. Straight piped sounds great, especially at idle, but it's just way too loud when you get on it IMO. You have to be careful around cops lol.

Still, I would have just bought an XYZ-pipe and the rear section of the TDX2 and fabbed up the midpipe. Could have saved $500 doing that.

I have a question about the Motordyne TDX V2 exhaust..

Is this system a true dual set up??

From the looks of the picture on MD website, it merges from a Y to a dual??

It *is* a true dual setup, it runs an X-pipe muffler in the center, you should always have a crossover to aid scavenging on a dual setup.

Scavenging is wikiable, but in short, it's basically using the vacuum left behind the exhaust gas pulses after leaving the engine to pull more gases through the pipe.

Which an X pipe will allow that?

I mean because it crosses over, ie. the two sides are linked.

True dual doesn't mean the sides never meet, it means they're separate except for what is sometimes referred to as a balance pipe.

Short answer, yes, this is the preferred setup, choices are usually X and H configs where they meet.
