Anyone try or seen pictures of smoked headlights? Not from the outside, but smoked on the chrome housing, on the inside? I'm thinking something like this color:

Thoughts?

For the people that have done this, what difficulty would you give it out of 10? lol

Been wanting to do this for a while, but too scared that I'd **** it up...
Tried looking for someone to do it for me but a shop wanted $250+ for it lol

Hmmm, two scores. Technical difficulty is about a 5. The two hardest parts are dropping the bumper and getting the lens off, but neither is that bad. Psychological difficulty is about an 8, mostly because the thought of putting your light assembly in the oven is pretty scary.

I thought it was easier than painting my grille. Less real estate, so less sanding, and the coats were easier on the lights. The single biggest piece of advice I can give is that less is better than more. It's better to spray multiple light coats on and take your time than to have even one overspray coat.

And remember, your car will be undriveable while you're doing this, so plan your time accordingly. I took mine apart right after work on a Friday and did all my painting that night. Re-baked/re-assembled the lights in the morning and re-installed after that. I wanted the lights to completely dry overnight.

That is true, but it really doesn't do any damage to your lights at 220 degrees, since our lights can handle extensive heat. If your really scared to put your lights in the oven then just go get a heat gun. I was going to go with the oven first, but it stopped working for some reason.. So i had to purchase a heat gun and the process was actually really easy. Also, this video below will help you understand the method a little better.

Yeah... at 220, it's really hard to damage a headlight.

I actually forgot one of mine and left it in for about 15 mins, it was no worse for the wear.

They appear to be missing from my album

They were just pics of roughed up/sanded bezels. I'll try to get some new pics up soon. Shouldn't stop you from proceeding though

Thanks for pointing that out
