Projector Headlight project

I decided to take the jump and do this project ,
I like the quad set ups but i am going for the single in the fog possition .
This is going into my 03.5 sedan

MY plan is factory HID up top and factory projectors in the bottom .
Color matched OB headlight shrouds .

I purchased a set of 2009 G37 headlights complete , and i also purchased a set of OEM HID from a 04 sedan .

I didnt want any down time so thats why i ended up getting the extra set . besides for what the person was selling them it was tough to say NO

So i will be posting pics as i go along with progress.

i would like to also paint the g37 shrouds black and sell the headlight for parts im sure a g37 driver can salvage some parts from them .

i will be starting later tonight .

ok here is the update , I baked the g37 lights they were a bit more cpmplex to open but i got it done they took several attempts as i was scared to brake them .

Prying the lenses from the housing is a pain cause you need to insert flat head screwdriver to lightly pry them open but with time and patience it all went down good.
It took me about 1 hour to do the first one and 30 min for the second one

then i did the g35 ones and took me 20 min , i was surprised .

The G35 lights got baked , alot easier then the g37 ones but they split open and now i will move on to prepping the bezzels for paint.

I took lots of pics of the progress just got to get home to upload

Ilso epoxy the back of one of the g37 bezzels before prep and paint..

Subscribed, I'm starting my 04 sedan retro too. Just baked open a headlight to do some preliminary measurements. I want to keep the projector up top in the factory hid spot but it's gonna be a tight fit. I got S2K's to go int here but they're gonna need some serious trimming to fit. I'm going to try to keep everything chrome for a more factory look. I think the blacked out lights is played out imo. I might only black out the reflector to reduce any unwanted striations in the beams caused by the projector light reflecting off it.

tools used , my oven and

i did it at 215 for 8 to 10 min i would lightly pry and rebake for additional 5 min . you have to use strength but be careful not to crack the housing .

removed the adjustment studs to release the projector

done with the g37 ones for now

my dremel tool just took a crap on me so im off to home depot to get a new one , i alreday baked the g35 ones and removed the shroud . now i need to cut to make the space for the projector .

im taking a break , i cut the holes in the oem lights in order to fit the projector , i drilled the mountiing points and screwed in the projecctors to the shroud and left some room for adjustability .

Im knee deep in the fox hole of the light world
